Hi friends! Another weekend zoomed on by and here we are Sunday night already…ready for a new week! I had a nice weekend and hope you did too! Yesterday was Mr. Buddy's birthday…and he's four already! Check out this post from his birthday last year (some cute pics). I got to spend a little bit of time in the crafty cave…
I have a fun post to share today! A few months ago, when we were cleaning out the garage, the DH found a box with a bunch of cards I had made him back in the day. That was a hoot! It was nice to see that I have improved over the years! hahaha. I thought it would be a fun thing to share with my bloggy friends. I particularly liked this one card we found…and come to find out I still have the same Hero Arts stamp set from 1996! So, I made a new card along the same design and color scheme. Isn't it fun to see our old stuff? Try not to laugh too hard at my old card!
I told you not to laugh! Looks like somebody just got a whole bunch of new scissors!
I must have been very proud - to sign the back of my work!
Here is the stamp set – still in great condition! A pretty set from Hero Arts that I would still pick out today probably. Nice and cheery for Summer or for a picnic theme project.
Here's my card remake! How nice to be able to use Copics! No crazy scissors used here! 🙂

Wanda,
I did get a good laugh and I’m thinking there might be hope for me afterall. Thanks for sharing your 1996 card.
Oh, come on… break out the crazy scissors…. LOL 🙂

Patty
A bit too late but HAppy Birthday to you Buddy!!Have you been spold with nice sweets?
Wanda your card from 15 years back looks great to me..your coloring was already great then.
But your card from now is superb love the coloring and layout and the pretty gingham paper.(were do you buy this..from which brand?)
The one from 96′ is special to me … I have saved so many of the cards over the years….Keep up the amazing work! Another wonderful artwork….
Viva la differance!!!! But both are cute!
It’s fun to see the progression of our creative styles and how we utilize the many new tools that come on the market (and onto our shelves, no doubt!) I like both cards, but admit that your new card is very appealing to me — very crisp and colorful! I’m enjoying your blog and work very much…thanks for sharing!
LOL Wanda! We had (still have) those crazy scissors! Love the old and updated version of the stamps : )
Have a great week!
So Pretty, I love it. TFS
Back to the future … too funny. Your skills (gives me hope) PLUS giving your boyfriend cherries and picnic baskets. Heehee.
I love looking back at the old stuff I made years ago and see how the saying goes you are only as good as your tools. Love all the new things we have discovered along the way to help us evolve. Thanks for sharing! May have to dig out some old stamps:) Just purged alot of swap cards to give to soldiers. Made me feel good to give them a good home since they are not my style anymore.
I love them!! I, too, just found the packet of several of my very first “swap cards”, which I was sooooo proud of! (they look LESS than stellar now!!!) . . . I love not only how WE have changed, but how products have changed! The new version is SUPERB!!!
Oh, how fun! I love your before and after, girl! And trust me, I was NOT laughing at your before. Here I was expecting a real hoot (like my first scrapbook pages!!) ;0
I think they are both fabulous. And man, oh man, I sure wish I could color like you!
Happy belated to Mr. Buddy. My baby girl is having a birthday tomorrow. She’s going to be 13. Yikes, where does the time go?
Just hopped over from the Flickr group – love both of your cards, Wanda! Yes, when all we had were those “designer” scissors, we were happy to give our cards a pretty edge, weren’t we?? Your coloring is superb and I love the updated layout so much!
