Heyyyyyy everyone! How are you? How is your week going? I’ve missed you! It’s been a little bit since I posted here on the blog. I’m back with something super fun today, though! I’ve been crafting like crazy, and there will be lots of posts in the upcoming weeks. I’ve taken a little break from the computer and such and it felt good. Our home repairs are finished and my anxiety level has returned to normal. The sun is shining and the birds are chirping! Happy Spring!

I used the gorgeous new Peonies stamps and dies to make a watercolor floral card. These peonies are the perfect size and scale for a card and they are SO fun to color. You can use pencils, Copics, or water colors. Whatever your heart desires! I was in the mood to water color and get messy and that’s just what I did. Let’s look at my card! And I’ll walk you through my steps. The finished card is A2 size.
Everything on my card was cut out from water color paper and stamped with Versafine Archival Onyx Black Ink. I started by stamping and die cutting out the lattice background, the peonies, leaves and butterfly. I used my favorite water color paint palette to color in the peonies in a pretty magenta/violet/pink color! I mixed and matched colors to get this pretty shade. I water colored all the pieces using a wet on wet technique. I set them aside to dry.
Here’s another appearance of that gorgeous butterfly from the last PPP Release! She looks perfect perched up there enjoying the flowers! Since there is so much color on the flowers, I used some grey to ground the scene by coloring her body grey. I water colored the Lattice Background with a pretty shade of blue. I did it very messy! Some parts are left white.
Here are the flowers before I added lots of black and white splatters! When you’re going to splatter – make sure that your images are totally dry first! This makes a huge difference. I usually give everything a blast with my heat gun to make sure.
Splatters!! Black and white both this time! The background lattice was splattered with blue ink.
At first I was going to use a word die for the sentiment…but it didn’t look the way I wanted it to. So, I switched gears and die cut a stitched circle out of watercolor paper. I stamped the sentiment in black and put just a touch of water color paint on it. I added two of the gorgeous new Caribbean Blue Gems!!
All the pieces were attached to the card with foam squares.

I love the lattice background with the giant peonies. There’s something so pretty about the contrast between geometric backgrounds and loose, flow-y flowers. And that butterfly is the perfect size proportionally to go with the peonies. So basically, I just really like your whole card. 😀
