Mighty Oak….

Hellllooooooooo! It's Friday Eve, or as other people like to call it, Thursday! I'm already waiting for the weekend. My aunts and uncles are coming to my town and it's been many years since all of us were together at once and I am very anxious to see everyone. Just have to make it through one more work day. I can feel the light changing at night now – it's already dark here and it's 7:45. I love that. Autumn – bring it!

Today I'm sharing a card made with an awesome new die and stamp set from Papertrey Ink called "Mighty Oak." Lemme tell ya, it's all sorts of fabulousness. Really versatile tree and leaves set with gorgeous sentiments. It has been on my stamp table for a couple of weeks and it was making me crazy. HAD to make something! I decided on a fall tree with a retro color scheme of yellow, orange and olive green. Hope you likey.

This sentiment is sooooo pretty! I stamped it with brown ink onto a strip of vellum, and then added a few gems to keep it retro chic. The tree trunk is actually a very dark brown – it looks black on my computer right now. The three colors of ink are from the Adirondacks Ink line.

Here's a side view…. All the leaves pop out of the die, then you stamp them, and pop them back in place like magic!

What a gorgeous fall creation! Love the sentiment on vellum! Had to laugh when I read your title…it reminded me of an old saying – “The mighty oak was once a nut that held its ground!” 🙂 I’m anxious for fall as well…hard to get in that mode when our temps have been up around 90 this week! Today it’s to get chillier and that will be a welcome relief. Have a wonderful w/e reuniting with family!

Love the tree, and trying to figure out the leaves. They almost look like they are extra, but placed there, purposefully! So different!!
I love autumn, but like it to be lighter longer in the evening…
