  • Happy Autumn Card with Prima Autumn Sunset Collection!

Hey there, my little foxy friends! Happy Autumn! I'm thankful for you! Happy weekend! I am here today to share a card I made with the GORGEOUS new Autumn Sunset Collection from Prima! Oh. My. Goodness. It's soooo beautiful! I bought two paper packs…and ALLLL the embellishments! I couldn't resist it. Seriously. I made this card, and some tags for birthday presents and I'm sure I'll be using it again this Fall and next. I like to make cards with lots of layers and textures and this card fits the bill…

I started with an A2 card base made from cream cardstock. Then I went to town adding paper, twine, gems and acorns. Let's look!

Prima Autumn Sunset Collection for Fall. Handmade card by Wanda Guess

On top of the cream card base, I layered some woodgrain paper from my stash, and then that pretty brown and cream gingham from the paper pad. Then I layered a strip across the bottom of the card horizontally. After that it was a matter of picking out stickers and bits and bobs from the papers. I hand cut out the butterflies and that tiny bit of music. Everything is edged with Distress Ink and a sponge.

For the sentiment, I die cut a stitched circle and edged it with ink. I stamped the sentiment in brown ink (that stamp is a VERY old wood mounted stamp)… I added some twine and pretty gold acorn from the collection.

    Handmade fall card ideas

Finally I added a few of the pretty checkerboard cut gems to add some sparkle.

The elements were affixed to the card with foam tape and clear glue as needed. Overall, it's a pretty, muted color palette and I just love how it came out! Classy and pretty, with a nice message.

  • Concord & 9th October Release! I’m a Guest Designer!

Holla! Hey! Hello! Happy Friday! I'm super excited to say that I am one of the guest designers for the month of October for Concord & 9th! I'll be sharing projects every Friday for the next four weeks, using new stamps and dies from the October New Release. YIPPEEEE! I've known for a while, and now I'm excited to share the news and show you some projects. CLICK HERE to visit the Concord & 9th Blog!

I hope you had a good week – and are looking forward to a fun weekend too. My week was busy and full of activities and creating. Some of you have emailed or messaged me about this crazy power outage situation here in Northern California. UGH. So I live in Sacramento County. When you look on the big power outage map, my county is the only one that has power. We are not on PG&E grids for electricity. We have SMUD. So I've been good here. About five miles east – all my foothill friends have zero power. It's the strangest thing I can remember happening around here. Thank you for checking on me tho. Now, back to cards!

The first product bundle I'm showcasing is the Annuals Bundle. A beautiful stamp set, matching dies, and calendar pages. You can create your own beautiful calendars with it (there are monthly words), make cards, and use it in your bullet journals and scrapbooking. Super versatile! I chose to make a card with the gorgeous florals and the pretty word dies. I used a graphic color palette of black, white, grey and pops of bright pink.

    Concord & 9th new release October 2019

My finished card is A2 sized with a white card base. I layered dark grey cardstock, and then vellum. The top layer is white cardstock that I stamped with the graphic image from the stamp set. Basically making my own patterned paper! I love doing that!

Concord and 9th new release stamps and dies

I stamped and die cut the floral image and colored it with my Copic markers. I die cut the words dies from pink and black cardstock. The friend word was stamped in Versamark ink and embossed with white embossing powder. I love this look of sharp contrast.

The center rectangle part of the card is mounted onto the card with foam tape. Then the floral is mounted on with foam tape also. I added a few sequins for just a bit of sparkle!

  • A little something to perk you up! Autumn Spice Coffee!

Hey guys!! How is Wednesday already?? This week is flying by! It's my favorite month, and it always goes by too quickly! I'm trying to get out and do all the Fall things and enjoy the season! I finished my first Fall Cross Stitch project on Monday, and then yesterday I went to Hobby Lobby to brainstorm ideas to finish/frame it off. Man, was I overwhelmed… I felt like I fell down a black hole of craftiness. I didn't know if it was Halloween, or Christmas or what!! LOL! I found a cute little rustic frame thingee and I think that's going to work out! I'll post it once it's done. There's a photo on Instagram of my stitching, if you can't wait! I love how it looks. I have two more Halloween stitching projects I want to finish and then I have a really lovely Winter one to start on. Anyhoooo, I got off track here.

I have a fun Fall/Coffee card to share today made with stamps and dies from Honey Bee Stamps! It's a card with a gift card inside! The finished card fits into an A2 envelope – for size reference. The die is one long piece that folds in the middle, and it fits on an 8.5 x 11 piece of cardstock. I used cream as my base and then added Fall colors and a cute pumpkin!

Honey Bee Stamps Coffee Card. Fall. Pumpkin Spice. Coffee card ideas. Wanda Guess

Here's the card folded up and decorated. I used woodgrain paper with the cozy dies and then more gingham and woodgrain for the lid. These are all just scraps from my stash. I made an olive green circle for the center part. The cup, the lid, the cozy are all included with the die set. It also has a frame piece. The pumpkin is a set of five dies! That's why it looks so great! You glue it together and it makes the perfect wittle pumpkin! I used orange paper and then edged with orange distress ink.

Honey Bee Stamps Coffee Cup Dies

I stamped and die cut the leaves and colored them with Copic Markers. I stamped the sentiment in Cocoa Memento Ink onto the card just under the cozy. I splattered everything with Vintage Photo Distress Ink mixed with water.

Coffee Card Ideas. Gift card ideas. Pumpkin Spice card. Copics

Everything is attached to the cozy. It just slides right off the card in order to open it.

Coffee Gift Card Ideas for handmade gifts

Here is the card opened up. I mounted a Starbucks Card inside as a little gift! It fits perfectly! (Fun fact – at my house I have about 500 unused Starbucks cards from all over the world! I've been collecting them for over ten years. My friends send them to me when they go places, and my husband and I collect them too. I have them in a cool binder! Then, when I need a specific one, I just get it out and load it!) I thought this was the perfect gift card for this project!

Here is the cozy piece. It's two die cut pieces glued together… SO EASY!

  • The Greetery Winter 2019 Release! Day four – Candy Pops and Christmas Tags!

Hi friends! It's a very exciting day again today! The Greetery Winter 2019 Release will be on sale tomorrow!! Today is the last day of product reveals!! And the entire new release goes on sale Friday, October 4th at 7am EST. WOOHOOOOO! Have you been following along all week with me and the other designers? I have been in awe of the amazing projects everyone has created! Wowza!! So happy to have been part of the celebrations! CLICK HERE to visit The Greetery Website and blog.

Today I have two more projects! One card, and one set of Christmas packaging tags. The new products I'm using today are the Candy Pops Collection and the Speed Tagging Collection! Both are again, so innovative and creative…Can't wait to show you!

First up is this cheerful and vivid card made in green and red for Christmas. I used the Candy Pops Dies to make a shaker card! These dies can be used like this, or with clear bubbles to enclose candies and other treats. The finished card is a white A2 card base…

The Greetery Candy Pops Collection by Betsy Veldman. Shaker Card for CHristmas

Here's a close up of the different dies! The stamp set has curved sentiments to fit around the edge!! I die cut the main portion from white cardstock and then used vellum for the ends, to look like candy wrappers. I used bright red for the peppermint center!! It's so clean and graphic.

    The Greetery

This was super easy to assembly and I love how happy it is! I buy my shaker card bits and baubles here. Can you see the tiny snowflakes?? And I always love sparkly things inside my shaker cards.

    The Greetery Candy Pops Collection

Next up is a set of vintage inspired Christmas Tags made with the Speed Tagging stamp and die combo! OMG this is soooo clever! I took lots of process photos to show you how easy this is!! I made ALL OF THESE TAGS at one time! Yes! I used Cream cardstock and lots of distress inking and vintage colors…. I really like how they came out.

The Greetery by Betsy Veldman. Speed Tagging Collection. Handmade Christmas tags

The stamp set has tons of sentiments and also extras like bows, and bells and leaves… You can dress up your tags or leave them clean and simple. Mine are somewhere in between! These are so great to have on hand, or to give as a little gift.

Okay, so here's the deal! It's genius. The stamp is a red rubber stamp, that stamps so nice and clean! I usually use my MISTI, but for red rubber I always prefer my Tim Holtz Stamping Platform and that's what I used for this project. ONE stamp makes SEVEN tags at once!

Magic! Seven tags – boom – done!

    The Greetery Speed Tagging

See in the photo how there are dots on the corners of the stamp??? Those dots line up precisely with the die!! So you die cut ONE time! And all seven tags pop out.

    10

PERFECTION!!!!! I love this so much.

    10

I stamped in red ink to start, then gold, brown and olive tones to make it seem vintage. I splattered some Vintage Photo Distress Ink on them too. I think these will be so pretty with some kraft packages and red ribbons…

  • The Greetery Winter 2019 Release! Day three – With Love at Christmas!

Welcome back to more release reveals from The Greetery!  The Greetery Winter 2019 Release is in full swing! All the reveals happen until October 3rd! And then the entire new release goes on sale Friday, October 4th at 7am EST. WOOHOOOOO! I'll be posting projects for the next two days to showcase some of the new stamps and dies. It's going to be FUN, that's for sure! CLICK HERE to visit The Greetery Website and blog.

Today my card and envelopes feature the new stamp set called With Love at Christmas (SO pretty) and the new Addressed Die and the Flappable Stencils. LOTS to show you today. My projects are classic Christmas in traditional colors….

The Greetery With Love at Christmas. Watercolor Poinsettia Christmas card. Wanda Guess. Winter release 2019

The finished card is an A2 card base made from deep red cardstock. I used watercolor paper and made two layers of white/cream. I used Distress Inks to make the image and also to ink the edges of the layers. This stamp set is a GORGEOUS Christmas floral that is made with several stamps. They are easy to line up and the results are perfect. To make my floral spray, I stamped with Distress Inks. Then I used clean water and a small brush to move the color around, looking like I watercolored it!!! I splattered white ink to look like snow… The sentiment was gold embossed onto black paper.

The Greetery With Love at Christmas. Watercolor Poinsettia Christmas card. Wanda Guess. Winter release 2019

The Greetery now sells envelopes! This new die goes on the front of envelopes and it's soooo nice. I simply love the tiny scalloped edge. Cuts like a dream. I die cut it from watercolor paper to look luxe. I stamped a second floral spray to use on the envelope. Tip: When you make pretty envelopes like this, mail it in a clear plastic envelope!! That way it stays nice. Be sure to put the postage on the outside!

This release has brand new "Flappable" Stencils that perfectly stencil a design on the back envelope flap! It's such a pretty effect… Sure to impress all your friends when they receive your cards!

  • Friendship is sharing and caring!

Hey hey hey! Happy weekend! I'm happier than a squirrel with a nut! It's FALLLLLL here finally! I wore a long sleeve shirt! Football is happening! So excited! Today's card is the final card of my guest designer gig with Hello Bluebird Stamps for their September new release. I REALLY really REALLY love their stamps! It was a fun month creating with all the new images and dies. I hope you've enjoyed my projects half as much as I've enjoyed sharing with you all. BIG thanks to KD and the crew at Hello Bluebird for inviting me to join along.

Today's card features two more new items: Oh Nuts! Stamp Set and Fall Leaves Die Set. Cutie patootie little squirrels, oak leaves, acorns, and the most adorable sentiments. EEP. Love. This finished card is a white A2 card base, layered with Olive cardstock and then Kraft cardstock. I kept it clean and sweet and simple. I chose Copics as my coloring medium.

That little guy is so happy! He's carrying a little acorn for his friend as a gift! I stamped and die cut out the squirrel and the oak branch. I also die cut one of the oak leaves from the new die set. I stamped the sentiment onto a white banner.

The leaves dies come in two pieces – so you get the veins. It's soooo pretty in person! I used a bit of distress ink to ink the edges and then a tiny bit of white paint splattered over it…

  • Sweet Treats for Fall!!

Howdy! Hope you're having an awesome week! I'm doing well and crafting up a storm. So many things I want to make and share this time of year. I'm spending a lot of time in my studio. Another round of organizing… It's getting hard core now! LOL. I feel like you have to do it a few times to get rid of everything. Right now it feels so good in here! I had to find a place to put my small (but growing) yarn stash, and my stitching… I'm tired of having old things that I never use. It's brutal to get rid of it, but there's no longer a choice. I must admit, I feel more creative now that I can 'breathe' in here! And now there's room for a friend or two to come over also. Tomorrow our heat wave will break and it's going to be in the 70's. YES! Bring on all the Fall things. I'm ready for sweaters! Haha. I hope you're doing great, and getting crafty!

Today's project was in my brain for a long time! I finally bought all the supplies and I had a blast making these adorable sweet treats! They came together easily and it was a fun process too. I love that they are totally customizable… So I'm sure I'll be making more for Valentine's Day! (But let's not get ahead of ourselves)… All the supplies to build the structure of the treats are from My Favorite Things. I did lots of photos to show you how they work! Let's get started! Sweet Fall Treats!

My Favorite Things Nugget Treats. Nugget Trio shaker. Fall treats. Ideas for gifts. Handmade. Wanda Guess

Aren't they cute??? I'm so excited to finally get this idea out of my brain, and onto the craft table! Yippeeee! The paper pad I used is from Doodlebug and it's called Flea Market. Unfortunately it's no longer in stock anywhere. It's a few years old. When it came out, I bought five pads!! LOLZ. I knew I would love it forever. Hahaha. Yes, I'm a paper hoarder! The brown ribbon is from Papertrey Ink. All the other supplies are listed at the bottom of the post in the supply links.

    MFT Nugget Treat Tags projects

Here's a close up of one of the treats! It's two tags glued back to back, with the Nugget holder sandwiched in the center. I used Almond Hershey's Nuggets since the wrappers are gold and it looked nice with the warm Fall colors. The Tag die is a separate die that you can use with all kinds of projects. Then you add on the Nugget Label Dies that have the frame and the opening, the wrapper part and the back part. It's really genius.

Fall Treat ideas from MFT and Doodlebug

The Sweet Celebrations stamp set matches with the treats. I love this stamp for the back! It's definitely an emergency when chocolate is involved! The recipient can pop open the back without destroying the entire thing. I love it!

MFT Nugget Label dies and treats

    1

These next shots show the process…. First die cut tags. Two for each treat. You can get six tags from one sheet of 8.5 x 11 paper. I used Lawn Fawn Kraft Cardstock.

    MFT Nugget trio

Use the included dies to die cut the opening in the top tag and the perforated part on the bottom tag. It's so easy!

    1

This is what the Nugget Pouches look like. They perfectly fit three Nuggets inside.

    Nugget Trio Shaker Pouches

There is also a die that PERFECTLY cuts out a strip to wrap around the Nuggets! I love that!!! I was able to cut three at a time from the patterned paper. Simply wrap the paper around and add a dot of glue or adhesive tape runner.  I used embossing ink and some cute little leaf stamps to add some leaves to the top part.

    1

So I have to admit that I ate a few!!!! But they're so cute all lined up and ready to put together!

    1

I used a glue pen to put the two pieces together because I thought it would give a better hold. You insert the candy into the pouch, and then that part gets sandwiched in between the two tags.

    1

I slipped the brown ribbon through the top and then tied it with some natural twine.

    Fall treat ideas.

I used brown ink to stamp the sentiment onto the bottom of the treats. The little enamel shaped leaves are from the same Doodlebug Collection called Flea Market.

handmade gifts and treats for parties

MFT Treat Tag and Nugget Label dies

Perfect for giving and sharing! I love that you can customize these in ANY colors for ANY occasion! I'm thinking baby showers, graduations, Halloween, birthdays and of course Valentine's Day! The possibilities are endless.

Thank you so much for popping by today! I hope I've inspired you to create! Have a blessed and beautiful day! CLICK HERE or on the graphic below to see the supply links for today's project. (Affiliate Links Used). Take care! XOXO

  • Hello Sweater Weather! Concord & 9th and Scrapbook.com Fall Supplies!

Hi friends! Happy Sunday! Thanks for following along last week with all those blog posts! SO MUCH FUN! I am totally head over heals in love with that new Hello Bluebird release!! I will be making two more cards later in the month with more new stamps from them! Yippeeee! It's firmly, officially Fall Crafting Season! Football is in full swing, I've had a couple of Pumpkin Spice Lattes….

The weather turned this weekend too. Whew. We had one last 100 degree day last week but then, boom, today is going to be in the 70's. I'm so glad! And I'm declaring (early) Hello Sweater Weather!! Today's card uses brand spanking new exclusive stamps from Scrapbook.com! I'll talk more about that later in my post. And, I've also used the cool new Turnabout from Concord & 9th called, appropriately, Sweater Weather! I love it!

This finished card is a 5.5 inch square. I cut the paper with my trimmer and made my own card using the Scor-pal. I wanted the entire Turnabout stamp to show and not cut off any of the cute sweaters! LOL.

Concord & 9th Sweater Weather Turnabout Stamp. Scrapbook.com inks and stamps. Fall Card by Wanda Guess

Here's a close up of the center, and that awesome new stamp! Dontcha love that font?? So cheerful! Have you ever used a Turnabout Stamp?? This one is called Sweater Weather. It's SO COOL! CLICK HERE to see them all. Basically, they've engineered the stamp so that you turn it and stamp it four times and you get a complete background! You can use all different colors, as I did, or the same color. You definitely need to use your MISTI to make this happen… But if you use your MISTI it's literally the easiest thing ever. I'm hooked.

For the center, I cut out some of the images and made them into charms to hang off the sentiment! I double stacked the foam squares to make more room for the charms to wiggle around.

I used orange and aqua cardstock to add some colorful accents. The sentiment piece is inked with a foam dauber.

Here are the colors I used for this background! The Scrapbook.com inks are perfect! Stamped crisp and clean the first time! You know I like to add a pop of aqua to my Fall cards.

I used some jump rings from my jewelry stash to dangle the little charms. I also added a few enamel dots to finish off the card.

Here's a photo of the new stamp sets from Scrapbook.com released for September! And, the new domed ink blending tools are AMAZING. Just that bit of a dome is super helpful when blending my inks. They are on sale now too! I really love being a brand ambassador for Scrapbook.com because I get to try everything first, and then tell you about it all! Yeah!

    Scrapbook.com new stamp release

There are also brand new stencils and blender brushes! (Also on sale!) The stencils are HUGE and such good quality.

    Stencils and foam blenders

My new favorite go to thing?? Those tiny circle foam dots! They are great for those tiny accents I like to use!! I pop them out with my tweezers.

Today I'm here to share two cards I made with Sunny Studio Stamps! I'm the guest designer on the Sunny Studio Blog today! I always, always, always love guest designing for Sunny Studio! I'm grateful to work with this awesome company, and with Mendi, their gracious and kind owner. Pop over to the Sunny Studio blog to leave some love and see all the other blog posts!!

My first card today is the CUTEST little kitty flying an airplane! EEP. I used the Plane Awesome stamps and dies. The stamp set comes with the adorable plane and a bunch of sweet animals to put in the cockpit! Of course, I chose the kitty and colored him to look just like my Lucky!!

Sunny Studio Stamps Plane Awesome stamps and dies. Airplane card. Wanda Guess

You make my heart soar! Gosh how cute is that sentiment? I am smitten with the Plane Awesome stamp set! I used the balloons image from the Love Monkey Stamp Set to attach to the back of the plane. This card is an A2 size. I started by using the awesome new paper called Heroic Halftones and covered the card base in yellow paper. Then I used the Clouds Borders dies and die cut out four sets of clouds. I attached two clouds at the top and two at the bottom of my card so it would look like he was flying through the air. I stamped and die cut all the images and colored them with Copic Markers in bright shades. I attached everything with foam tape. Some glitter glue accents finish off the card. I think I'll tuck this one away for Valentine's Day, but it would also be a great Anniversary card.

Next up is a warm Autumn greeting inspired by the new Sunny Studio paper pad called Colorful Autumn. SUCH pretty papers! I used some wood grain paper from my stash to make an A2 card base. I layered orange paper and leaf print paper onto the card base. I used the colors in the leaf print paper to inspire my color choices for stamping. I stamped the pretty leaves from the Autumn Splendor stamp set in orange, yellow and green and die cut them out with the matching dies. I stamped the sentiment on a paper strip and wrapped it around that top layer. Then I tucked the leaves and acorn into that banner. This is a fun card layout that would work with a lot of different themes. I splattered some brown ink onto everything and added enamel dots to finish it off.

The Stamp Market Color Crush Collection. New stamps and dies. Wanda Guess

For my projects for today, I wanted to showcase my favorite colors from Color Crush! They are Citrine, Tropic Teal, and Bubble Gum. I also used Mossy Green in there for a darker shade, that wasn't black. I wanted to create a Mad Men 60's vibe with argyle and retro colors! I love everything from that time period and there are such great design elements from that period also. Here is my card, and the treat box!

The Stamp Market Color Crush stamps and dies for handmade cards

The card finished is A2 and made from Citrine Cardstock. I layered white cardstock as my top layer. I die cut the diamond shape from the Floral Diamond Set in my chosen colors and glued them to the white paper. They I used the amazing new Fine Lines jumbo stamp to stamp the argyle pattern lines across the diamonds. I used Mossy Green ink for this part. The sentiment is also stamped in Mossy.

handmade card ideas retro colors. the stamp market

I made the pillow box treat box using the We R Memory Keepers Pillow Box Punch Board and the same Citrine cardstock as the card so they would match. Man, I love that color!! I used a pretty strip of patterned paper to wrap around the center of the box, and then some twine. The big flower is the brand new Large Peony Die set. Normally, the petals would be folded in like a peony, but I wanted to show another option, by bending them outward! I used three layers of Bubble Gum cardstock for the flower. The set comes with two sizes of flowers (this is the small one), the leaves, and the center. I used Mossy Green for the Center, and Leafy Green for the leaves. I splattered everything with white ink for an artsy feeling.

The friend die cut is from the Scalloped Notecards Die Set (A favorite). The new collection comes with clear enamel dots also! So pretty as an accent on leaves.

Here's a close up of the flower! SOOOO pretty! This is going to get used a lot in my craft room!

The focal point of my card is the Big HI die cut. I splattered it with a bit of white. This is two cardstock layers together to make it a bit thicker on the paper.

I made cardstock swatches of all the colors in the Color Crush lineup! Here they are for you! YUMMMMMMMY. There are thirteen colors in this launch. They are all bright, clear, and happy colors. The paper is so nice to work with and the ink pads are great also. I have some photos below of all the new items in the color family! YAY!

Hey there my crafty and creative friends! How's your week been so far?? It's going to be 107 degrees here today! I'm staying inside, that's for sure! Yikes. One last blast of Summer before Fall comes! It's been a good week here. Lots going on, lots to create and photograph. Today I'm popping in to share a card and a super fun announcement! Please head over to The Greetery Blog to see Betsy's post!

In honor of the DT announcement today I made a sweet Summer card in pretty lemon yellow and vivid blue. I love that color combination. It's always perfect. I inked up the Lemon Blossom stamp set for the first time. It's such a pretty stamp set!

Happy to see my face in this lineup! So many of my favorite crafters!
Betsy Veldman The Greetery Design Team

This finished card is a white A2 card base. I die cut the Crimped Dies into a rectangle and used pretty Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink to make my blue background. It fades darker to lighter from left to right, but I only used the one color of ink. (This was going to be a horizontal card with the color fading from top to bottom but then I changed my mind!) Then I splattered that blue panel with white ink. The gingham is my favorite paper from Sunny Studio! I mean, c'mon, I had to use yellow gingham right??

Betsy Veldman The Greetery Lemon Blossom. Distress Ink Blending. Summer card. Wanda Guess

I stamped and die cut the lemons, slices, flowers and leaves using my go-to inks. I heat embossed the sentiment with Versamark and white embossing powder. It pops off that blue!

Betsy Veldman The Greetery Lemon Blossom. Distress Ink Blending. Summer card. Wanda Guess

I affixed the blue layer with foam tape onto the gingham and the card base. The lemons, etc. are also attached to the card with foam tape. I used some clear droplets as my finishing touch.

I made THREE cards! Two Christmas cards and one Halloween card…so you know that means lots of pictures today! Grab some coffee and take a look with me. My process when I get a new stamp release is to lay it all out on my big counter top in my studio. I will also grab my other stamps from that company and sort of look at it all at once. See what my brain starts to put together. I couldn't stop making cards with this release. Yay!

First up is a fun Christmas card featuring an adorable Santa and some pretty pine trees! This finished card is A2 sized with a white card base.

  • Vintage Florals with the July Mini Release from The Greetery!

Hi everyone! I'm popping in with a vintage feeling card made with the July Mini Release from The Greetery! I'll be teaming up with Betsy and The Greetery once a month or so to feature a project made with the brand new releases. YAY! So excited about this partnership with one of my favorite crafters! This past week The Greetery did a Mini Release! Just a few carefully selected products to go along with the rest of the Summer release. Gorgeous new dies that I used today (Sunflower Botanicuts) and the pretty new Crimped Rectangles. I chose to make a vintage vibed card with watercolors and old music…it was such a joy to create, and now I get to share with all of you!

CLICK HERE to go to The Greetery to see all the pretty new items! I used some new and some previously released stamps and dies. You know I love to combine lots of different things on my cards! The water coloring and inking was done with Mini Distress Inks. I found the perfect ink combo to use with the mason jar stamps too! Let's get to it! The finished card is A2 sized and a white card base. I shot my card photos at the nursery! My entire card was inspired by my love of Black Eyed Susan flowers!! SO instead of making sunflowers, I made BES!

Betsy Veldman The Greetery Sunflower card. Distress Inks, Vintage card by Wanda Guess

I started with a white card base. Then I layered a kraft layer die cut with the new dies. SO pretty! I have this old book of sheet music that I use for projects, so I tore off a page of that and layered it. Then a crisp and pretty white doily. Everything vintage!

Betsy Veldman The Greetery Sunflower card. Distress Inks, Vintage card by Wanda Guess

I stamped the mason jar (this is three step stamping) onto Bristol Smooth Cardstock. And used the matching die to cut it out. Then I die cut several flowers and leaves pieces out of the Bristol also. I used shades of yellow, green and brown Mini Distress Inks to color all the pieces. To achieve the look I wanted, I cut some of the assembled flowers in half!! I love how that looks!

    The Greetery Stamps and Dies

The red heart was colored with Distress Ink. It's a VERY VERY old hand punch from my stash. I still have a few of those left!! I splattered brown and white ink over everything. I inked the edges of all the pieces too.

I used a pretty basics die and the Birthday Suite stamps to make a tag for my flower bouquet!

  • Summer Sea Life Banner – Under The Sea Kit from Queen & Company!

Hi crafty pals! I'm going to have you humming 'under the sea' by the end of this post! Happy Monday and a happy Summer Monday it is! We hit 100 degrees over the weekend, and the State Fair started, so, yep, it's Summer! I'm already starting to get Fall and Winter stamps in the mail for design assignments, but I'm holding on to Summer crafting for a little bit longer! I like to start thinking about Fall in August! Do you agree?? I hope you had a nice weekend!

Today I'm sharing NOT a card! LOL. I made a cool banner out of the newest and coolest Queen & Company Shaker Card Kit! I had SOOOOO much fun making this project! It's been a long time since I crafted a banner… And I got out my eyelets too! It was a nice day in the craft room creating this for a friend. If you're not familiar, I really recommend that you pop over to the Queen & Company website and check out their fabulous kits. I made this entire banner from one kit, and didn't even use half of the items!! Shake, shake, shake! Lots of photos in this post! Grab a coffee!

Here is the finished banner! EEK. So cheery and festive! I looooove all those colorful sea animals!! (this is not an easy thing to photograph. LOL. My hubs is standing up against the wall on the right! HA) There are nine banners total. The one in the center is stamped. I'll show lots of close ups.

I sort of laid out my color scheme and my shapes before I made it all. Here is my in process on my desk… It's a good photo to show the dies. They are so nice and cut a perfect crisp edge every time. ALL the dies, an entire paper pad, a full stamp set, the acetate, the foam, the shaker bits….ALL included in the kit.

  • Penny Black Watercolor Butterflies!

Greetings Special Friends! How are you? Are you crafting anything fun this week? I hope you get in some creative time – I feel like that's so important. Even if I don't create, I make sure to come in my studio every single day. Sometimes I just organize or look through things, sometimes I don't think I'm going to create, but the mood strikes me once I'm in here! I've thoroughly enjoyed doing the Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge this time around. I didn't make something every single day, but I tried!! It's coming to a close in a few days… I'm getting around to posting the cards I made with all the elements I colored along the way. Today's card is just that! I colored these gorgeous butterfly stamps a while back…happy to share the card with you today!

The stamps I used today are Butterfly Garden and Special Friends from Penny Black. I heat embossed everything with gorgeous gold and then watercolored with my fav water color set. I used to do gold embossing all the time, but it's been a while. I'm so happy with how this turned out. The finished card is an A2 white card base.

Penny Black Butterfly Garden. Mijello watercolors and gold embossing. Butterfly card. Wanda Guess

I started by stamping/embossing the butterflies and the banner. It was all stamped onto watercolor paper. I die cut them out with the matching dies. I die cut a stitched rectangle, also from watercolor paper. I stamped the pretty leaves directly onto this panel.

Penny Black Butterfly Garden. Mijello watercolors and gold embossing. Butterfly card. Wanda Guess

Next, I watercolored all the elements! I chose pretty, bright shades! I let everything dry, and then added some splatters.

  • Happy 4th of July 2019!

Hey everyone!! Happy 4th of July, Independence Day! Happy Birthday America! What are you doing today to celebrate? As of right now, writing this post, I'm not sure what we're doing! It's going to be perfect weather and there are lots of things going on around town… We just haven't decided! I hope you and your family have a perfect day!

I have a very patriotic and festive card to share today. I always love vintage Americana style…So that's just what I did here for today's project. The finished card is A2 size made from woodgrain paper from my stash. LOTS of distress inks, gold splatters, and rhinestones complete the look!

4th of July card ideas. Flag, US die, fireworks stamps, distress inks. Card by Wanda Guess

I started with my card base, and then layered dark red cardstock as the next piece. The top layer, the circle, the USA die, and the flag, were all stamped onto cream cardstock instead of bright white. I used Barn Door and Faded Jeans Distress inks to color the flag stamp. I used the mini inks so it was easy to put straight onto the stamp.

4th of July card ideas. Flag, US die, fireworks stamps, distress inks. Card by Wanda Guess

I used an old Adirondack Ink Pad in Butterscotch to stamp the fireworks on that top layer. I splattered everything with brown ink and edged everything with brown ink too. Looks old and cool I think. It's hard to see in the photos, but I also splattered gold ink over the pieces. It's really pretty in person!!

Close up of all the stamping, inking and splattering!! LOL. The words were stamped in brown ink instead of black ink, again, for a vintage look.

Can you see the gold paint there in the corner??

All the pieces are attached to the card using foam tape. The rhinestones work nicely for the centers of the fireworks – just a bit of shine to it all…

SUPPLIES….That's hard for today! All of these stamps are stamps I've had for many years in my collection. All of them are discontinued and I looked online for resources…but couldn't find any… The USA Die and the brown words are from Taylored Expressions. The flag is from Art Impressions. The fireworks stamp is from Rubber Soul… And the postage one didn't have any label at all! Sheesh. Have a great day!! See you soon… XOXO

  • Summer Pool Party with Avery Elle!

Hi everyone!!! Happy weekend again! I hope you had a fantastic week! My week went by so fast. I was really busy making lots of things and going here and there. The weather here has been perfect!! Nice to be outside. Today I'm going to a Convalidation Ceremony for one of my friends and a party after to celebrate. Really looking forward to it! What are you doing this weekend?? Whatever it is, have fun!!

Today I'm sharing a card sure to make you smile!! It's a pool party! LOL! The absolutely cutest stamps from Avery Elle!! I colored these images a few days ago for the 30 Day Coloring Challenge, and then finally made them into a card. This is why we craft, to smile! The finished card is A2 sized.

I made the card base from white cardstock and then covered the entire front of the card with the PERFECT paper from Sunny Studio! The paper has the subtle blue waves on it and it matched my project exactly. I love it when that happens!

The images were all stamped and die cut with the matching dies and colored with Copic Markers. I used a white gel pen to add highlights over my coloring. I also used quite a bit of clear shimmer pen on the elements. I love this sentiment!! Wishing you Sunshiny Days for sure!

The most adorable clouds! I added a tiny edge of color (BG11) and some shimmer to them before putting them on the card. All the elements are affixed to the card with foam tape.

I had a hard time deciding what color to do her bathing suit and the unicorn hair… I finally decided to do both parts in a soft pastel rainbow! Really just funnnnn!

  • Fun with Waffle Flower! A Wanda & Lucky Card!

Hey everyone! Happy Monday! I hope you have an awesome week planned! It's going to be H O T here in Sacramento so my goal is to stay cool! We had a fun weekend. Saturday was World Wide Knit in Public Day so I went to the park with a bunch of crafty gals and we sat around all afternoon eating snacks and yarning! It was big fun. Then hubs and I had date night! YAY! Yesterday was for chores and crafting! You know I'm on a quest to use all my awesome stamps that haven't been inked yet. This weekend I used THREE new sets and combined them to make two super fun cards!! Can't wait to show you! Thanks for stopping by today to visit!

My cards today feature Waffle Flower stamps and dies! Yippeeee! You know they are one of my favorite companies! I had the new sets: Go Girl, Be Her and Be Him in my new stamp bin. I thought – hmmmm – surely I can use these all together to create something fun. And, a silly and sweet idea came to me! I made a card featuring me and Lucky! LOL. The Go Girl stamp set makes the cutest paper doll like girls and the Be Her set is adorable animals (including a kitty cat!) I also used some supplies from Lawn Fawn and a beautiful new paper pad! Hurray for creativity!!

First up is this card with me and Lucky on it!! It makes me smile! The finished card is 5" x 6" to accommodate the two Polaroid frames (I have no idea where that die is from – it was in a bin in my room). The card base is kraft cardstock and then layered with a piece of paper from the new Echo Park Paper Pad. The card will fit into an A7 envelope just fine. Sometimes you have to make your own card size!

I stamped the neck/shoulders of the girl, and the cat and colored them with my Copic Markers. I die cut the little bow tie and the girls' shirt from the same floral patterned paper so they match. Then I die cut the hair and the glasses and pieced it all together. I used a touch of distress ink around the edge of the hair to give it a bit of depth.

The Hello sentiment is also from a Waffle Flower stamp set. I cut it out by hand.

I added one enamel dot to the center of the cat's bow tie. The frames are filled with light blue cardstock which was die cut with the Lawn Fawn Clouds Die Background. Gave a bit of interest instead of just having white paper behind their heads. I used one of my favorite Lawn Fawn alphabet sets to stamp our names onto little banners. EEP.

The name banners and the figures were all attached to the card with foam tape. I affixed everything together with lots of foam tape!!

Since I had everything out already, I decided to make a second card! This time I made the Go Girl lady into a queen! A crafting queen I think! I gave her a crown and a strand of classy pearls!! SO FUN!! I literally could sit for hours and play with this stamp set!!

This finished card is A2 size. I layered red cardstock and then white cardstock. I die cut the beautiful rays and then also layered some beautiful green leaves. I'm not sure why – but that spoke to me! If you look closely you can see that I added a little floral detail to her shirt by using a stamp with Versamark ink.

I colored the center of the sunglasses with grey Copics.

  • Scrapbook.com May Stamp Release – Celebrate!

Hi there crafty friends! Happy weekend! I have two giveaways going right now! One is on my last blog post (for Picket Fence Studios) and one is on my Instagram (for Reverse Confetti)! Be sure to enter both! It was a busy week last week! So many fun things going on. I have a list in my journal of all the projects I want to make… And it has about 50 things on it! OMG. I have been really inspired lately, but haven’t had enough time at my desk to stamp. So I write down jumbles of words and sketches and color combinations…. And I hope my brain remembers later what I was thinking! LOL. Thank you for the huge and fun response to my Instagram Takeover at Pretty Pink Posh on Monday. THAT WAS SUPER FUN! I’m trying to get better and more used to incorporating videos into my social media. I’m sort of shy in that regard, but I’m working on it.

As you know, I’m a Brand Ambassador for Scrapbook.com, and specifically on their stamping design team. YAY! So today, I’m introducing you to the new stamp release for May! It’s a lot of great sentiment stamp sets…and they’re all on sale right now! The Scrapbook.com stamp sets are such nice quality. They stamp crisp and perfect right out of the package. And they are such a good price point. I definitely recommend them! I used all sentiment sets to make a graphic and colorful birthday card to share with you. I used bright colors and crisp white heat embossing. This birthday card would be perfect for a man or a woman of any age. I love to have lots of birthday cards on hand in the studio….

Scrapbook.com now sells Neenah White A2 VERTICAL notecards already scored! YES!! So I used one of those as my card base. I layered one more white layer and put about 1.25 inches of black and white striped paper on the left edge to form my card. Then I mixed and matched the sentiments and stamped them onto die cut banners. I sewed them all to the card on the left edge – really loose and funky…. Finally I added a few sequins and the make a wish stamp that comes in the birthday set. You could make this card in Fall colors or Primary colors. Really it would work with anything. It’s a good card sketch to save!

I slipped in a few thinner vellum banners to add a bit of something something! They are tucked in behind the other banners and attached with foam tape.

Here’s a close up of the sewing and the sequins. These are my go-to favorite bright shades!
