  • Guest Designing with Concord & 9th! Let’s make some shoppes!

Hi there creative and crafty friends!! Happy Monday! How was your weekend? If you can believe it, we have had three more days of rain!!! Gosh, I really can't remember ever having all this rain. I don't really mind it as long as we're cozy at home!! Did you do anything fun this weekend? Get in some crafting time? It's going to be another very busy week here on my blog! Can you believe how many projects I've been making? I can't even believe it! LOL. It just so happened that everything was released at the same time this month. Whew! I am not sure if I've ever posted this many cards in such a short amount of time!  It's been so fun sharing all these new goodies with you and thank you for hanging out with me. Especially thank you for all the super kind comments last week! This week is also going to be busy – with posts today, Wednesday and Friday! Wishing you a happy week ahead. Let's go!

Our friends at Concord & 9th do a new release every month on the 9th of the month. For March, they asked me to guest design for their new release and I said OH YEAH! The new goodies are already available in their storefront. I'm going to share three cards today and three more next Monday – all made with the new release. Each day I'm sharing has a theme based on the new products. I love Concord & 9th for their innovation and unique style and this month the new items are SO FUN!!

My three cards today have one thing in common – they are SHOPPES! I'm featuring the brand new Window Shoppe Pop Up Base Dies, the brand new Fashion Shoppe Dies and the brand new Flower Shoppe Dies! Too cool….  Supplies are all listed at the bottom of my post!

First up is my card featuring the Window Shoppe Base Dies…. These dies make a fabulous folding pop up card that looks like a storefront. LOVE LOVE LOVE. I used most of the dies from the set to create a sweet little gift shoppe. It has a little bicycle out front, cute topiaries, and even a string of party lights. The card folds flat and fits into an A2 envelope (or maybe larger depending on how much stuff you put on it!)

In this side view you can see the folding mechanism – it's so simple really – and genius! I chose a fresh color palette of red, black, white and grey. Sort of a Farmhouse feeling to it. I imagined a gift shoppe full of treasures… I started by die cutting out all the pieces and gluing them together – the bike and the topiaries needed assembling. The main die cuts out the entire storefront. I used vellum to make the 'windows.'

I used some patterned paper from my stash to make the awning, and added a scalloped edge with some scissors…. I strung those tiny lights behind the awning and added some Diamond Stickles onto the lights.

The sentiment is from one of my very favorite C9 sets….with the matching die! It's perfect up there on top of the roof!

I added inked accents and some paint splatters on parts of my card. The building is light grey and then I splattered grey and white ink onto it for a more aged look. I made the topiaries by stacking two of the bushes together onto a strip of wood paper. Everything is simply too adorable.

For my next card I used the brand new Fashion Shoppe Bundle to make a dress boutique! Instead of making a pop up card this time, I made a flat card using the dies. My finished card is an A2 white card base, layered with pink and then my shoppe elements.

The sentiments that match are SO fabulous! I chose teal and pink and black for this card to make it more feminine! Perfect card for a girlfriend.

I just am so smitten by all the little details! I made a gold glitter chandelier (!) and I used mirror cardstock to make the standing mirror… I added those tiny shoes and even a pearl necklace to the mannequin. The ideas are endless for this set.

    12

I die cut the pretty background with hearts and then attached the boutique on top of that background. To make the colors pop, I added a bright pink flower to the upper left of the card and draped some greenery too.

My last card today features the brand new Flower Shoppe Bundle. But, instead of making a flower shoppe, I made a cute little boho chic Plant Shoppe!! Here in Sacramento we have a super cool flower store and my card was inspired by the plant store! The colors, the brick, the vibe…. I think it came together super fun. I would definitely want to shop here!! LOL.

For this card I used acetate for the windows so they would be clear and you can see the brick wall background. I used dark teal, brown and mustard with all those greens for a certain feel to the color palette. I went to town die cutting so many plants and pots, a cart and even and tiny watering can!! EEP.

My awning is made from brown striped paper and the sentiment is from the Whimsical Wings stamps/die set….

    22

I glued some of the plants inside on the back of the door to look like the plants are stacked on the floor inside. It was like building a Barbie house! Ha. I used Copic markers and distress inks to add shading to my plant elements.

In the background, I used kraft cardstock and stamped the brick wall onto it in a darker brown. I splattered on some white ink… I hung up the party lights and even hung a plant from the back of the awning.

  • Concord & 9th Feature Friday – New Release May 2022!

Whew! We made it to Friday! What a week it's been! SOOOO many projects and so many blog posts and fun stuff! Thanks for coming along and hanging out with me all week! I have one more post for the week – let's finish it off right! As you know, I'm one of the guest designers for the Concord & 9th May 2022 new release. Yay! I have two final cards to share with you, both made with brand new products. Everything is already available for shopping at C9 and it's my pleasure to share some inspiration with you! I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Thank you for keeping up with me and sharing the fun here with me all this week. XOXO

My first card today is showcasing the brand new SO KIND stamps and dies! (there are matching stencils too)! My finished card is an A2 card base. I used kraft and bright Clover green and pops of pink and yellow. This card feels very Summery to me.

The suite of products comes with a big die that cuts out the letters all at once. You can use the outline or use the letters individually like I did here. The big "you are so kind" sentiment fills up a whole card. The matching stamp does the pretty leaves and flowers images onto the letters. Very cool. The tiny sentiment and banner is part of the set. I used the small flowers and leaves from the Picked Posie die set that was also released this month!! (Supplies are listed at the bottom of my post).

I was playing around with colors and I knew I wanted to use kraft and white… When I put that pretty Clover green next to it, it just popped!! So we went with green! LOL. I stamped and heat embossed the letters with white embossing. I die cut a second set of letters in green to be a shadow.

Next up – BIG hugs and pretty paper!! This card features the new Positively Stitched background dies. There is one that die cuts out the cross pieces and a second one that does the pierced crossed that fit underneath. My finished card is an A2 card base. All the papers/colors used are from Concord and 9th! I showcased the Positively Stitched products as part of my background and combined them with the Garden Party Paper Pack.

Here is a close up of the two dies and how they go together. Use each one separately or together! I used the BIG hugs die set and die cut out aqua, gold and vellum…to match the patterned paper. This card is nice and flat for mailing but still has a lot of design elements going on! I love using all different textures and patterns. So happy!!

  • Concord & 9th May New Release – Good Vibes and Posies!

Hi gang! Happyyyy Fridayyyyy!!! Oh man, it's been 95 degrees here already! Not ready! But Summer is coming! Hope you had a great week! Good to see you! I am a guest designer for Concord and 9th's beautiful May 2022 new release. Yippee! I have two projects to share with you today made with the new goodies. Everything is already in the store for shopping so I hope you find some inspiration and maybe something that you want to create with. My personal favorite thing from the new release is the Picked Posie Dies and Stamps. Pretty, modern, classic florals. Right up my alley. Let's take a look!

My first card was made with the new Picked Posie Suite and also the Stitched Vines background (another favorite thing of mine from C9). I used Concord and 9th beautiful cardstock also. My finished card is an A2 card base. I covered it with deep pink paper. My 'white' parts are actually cream cardstock for more of a soft/vintage feeling. I used kind of a different color palette for me. I popped in that deep red. Again, I felt like that was sort of vintage. What do you think??

For the sentiment banner, I die cut three of them from cream cardstock and glued them together for more of a statement. I stamped that gorgeous sentiment onto the top one. SO FRESH!!!

The dies are in separate pieces so you can mix and match florals for any type of layout. I wanted a big floral spray focusing on those soft pink posies.

I added some white gel pen accents onto the flowers and leaves and also finished off with some white enamel dots. You know I love all the little details.

Next up is a fun and funky Good Vibes card! The finished card is a 5" x 5" square card from kraft paper. I used a retro 70's good vibes color palette and the new Good Vibes turnabout stamp and dies. I also put in some funky cute birds!!

I used only C9 ink pad colors and cardstock for this card. Yummy orange, yellow, aqua and teal. Reminds me of the OP shirts I used to wear in junior high school! I used vellum as the background for the dies….To let that pretty background show through. I splashed on a little bit of white paint and also used some white enamel dots as my details. This would make a great 'cheer up' or 'get well card' I think.

  • Happy Valentine’s Day with Doodlebug and Pretty Paper Hearts!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY, LOVELIES!!! I'm up on the Doodlebug Blog today celebrating Love Day! I am featuring the new Lots of Love Collection, along with some amazing Heart Box Dies from my friends at Concord & 9th. I created some heart treat boxes and decorated them with lots of happy things…. Who doesn't want some chocolate kisses on Valentine's Day?! I hope you have a fun day today! XOXO

Here are my treat boxes! Lots and lots of pink and red…kept it traditional from a color scheme perspective…. There are tons of photos in this post, so grab a cuppa and come along with me! This project would be SO great for party favors, bridal shower treats, weddings, and more… I'm completely smitten with the heart boxes dies! Really easy to create and so much fun.

Here are the heart boxes in progress. I used Doodlebug Textured Cardstock to make the boxes and then I used the 12×12 Doodlebug Gingham on top! The DB textured cardstock is the perfect weight for this project. It bends perfectly and makes such crisp folds. Just lovely. To make the boxes, you will die cut hearts and then the side pieces. Two side pieces and two hearts for the top, and two for the bottom. So you make two exactly the same and then they work as a box. Couldn't be easier!!! I used double sided tape and also a glue stick and liquid glue! Any type of adhesive works here.

  • Love is in the air!

Hi friends! By the end of this post you'll be humming the "up, up and away" song in your head! I have some exciting news and a happy card to share with you today. Hope you've been having a great week so far! It's almost Valentine's Day and I have a few heart/love themed projects to show you before the holiday comes. Today, my project is featured on the Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine Blog as part of their Valentine Week celebration! I'm so happy to be a guest on the magazine's blog. Super fun!

My card features stamps and dies from Concord & 9th's January Collection….and I totally love it all! My finished card is a white A2 card base that I covered with pink Cardstock. A crisp white layer (white hearts!) and then those awesome hot air balloon dies! I used a fresh color palette of red, white and aqua, with a few pops of pink. Let's look!

    1

    Sct blog wanda

One of the (many) things I love about Concord & 9th is that they always think of the details! Like that little flag to go on top of the balloons!! I started this card by die cutting the gorgeous Stitched Hearts Background in white. Then I die cut out all of the balloon pieces, the hearts, and the clouds. I also die cut the 'love' word for my sentiment. I love the red and white stripes – feels sort of old fashioned and vintage.

    1

Instead of using black for your die cut sentiments, use a dark grey instead. It gives the same effect, but is not as harsh as true black. I used grey to die cut the pretty 'love' sentiment that goes across the bottom of my card. I used woodgrain cardstock for the baskets to add some texture, and I kinda thought it looked like a basket!

I added pink hearts to the front of the balloons and also splashed on a bit of white paint. I created the banners across the balloons using Aqua Sky Cardstock and Vellum. I tucked in a few clouds behind the balloons. This is all so whimsical and fun!!

I used foam tape to attach the balloons to the page. I love dimension on my cards, as you know! I think this is the perfect Valentine card! But it could also easily be a wedding card or a just because card.

  • Pop Up Birthday Card with the new Concord & 9th Release!

Hey friends!! Hope you're having an awesome week! I'm here with (shocking) a birthday card! NOT a Christmas card! LOL. There's a fabulous new release last week from Concord & 9th and I was lucky enough to get some goodies in the mail from them. They always come up with something cool! Remember the pop up Christmas village??? Yeah, they're super cool over at C9! Today I have some pretty party colors and a new kind of Pop Up! You're gonna love it. I will tell you, I am not a genius at folding things and putting 3D things together…. So I was a little nervous about trying this. But guess what? I got it exactly right on the first try! Yay! It's always good to have birthday cards on hand. And you could make this card with any color palette. I used lots of the new goodies: ice cream, cupcakes, candles….all of it!

The finished card is an A2 white card base folded on the long edge. I wrapped it with a decorated belly band to keep it shut until it POPS open. I love these colors together and this card makes me smile. Here is the front of the card, while folded, with the belly band on. All the elements: words, candy and ice cream are all only connected to that teal band so it can slide right off.

Of course I made a triple scoop cone for the front! I used these four colors from the beautiful C9 palette: Ballet Slipper, Honeysuckle, Aqua Sky and Oceanside. I only added a few pops of red/yellow/orange as accents. The "Happy Birthday" is two stamps that match up – so you can easily use two different colors.

And…. POP POP POP up! Yay! Happy birthday indeed! Candles, then ice creams, then cupcakes up front! So sweet! I die cut out all these elements from the four colors in my palette. Then I used Copic Markers to add shading and then some white gel pen accents. The bottom of the ice creams and cupcakes are made with kraft cardstock.

Here's a close up of the elements attached to the folding pop up base dies! SO easy! The pop up base dies are in a set of three – different sizes. You die cut then out and tape them into the fold of the card. Then glue on your elements. That's it. Truly. I did it and you can too!

Before I added the pop up elements I stamped the happy happy birthday onto the bottom of the card and also added some confetti!

  • Christmas Magic with Concord & 9th!

Hi friends! I know it's been A LOT of Christmas here lately! Whew. Everyone is trying to get their holiday releases out early so we have time to create and craft. But, dang. It's been so busy (in the best way)!! I think we can get back to Fall crafting here soon, but first, today, I have some Christmas magic to share with you with stamps and dies from Concord & 9th! Greg, the owner, and I have become friends over the years and have shared a lot of laughs together and spaghetti wrapped in pizza (that's a whole other story)…. He's the best. So when I saw the C9 Christmas release I let out an audible gasp! What??? How do they do it?? I told Greg, and he put the whole release to me in the mail. I am very blessed. VERY blessed. The C9 Christmas release this year has so much to love. I'm sharing two cards today, and I have more ideas brewing in my head… Can't wait to share these with you. They've been ready, but I was waiting for all the goodies to be back in stock!

First up – FA LA LA indeed! A pop up Christmas Village!! Adorable!! And, it folds down flat to mail it. Genius. GENIUS! I used the new Card Stacks Base Die (gonna use this a lot – couldn't be easier) to make the frame for the village. I used the Home For the Holidays Dies and the Fa la la die for the top. I combined some other previously released favorites and used the wonderful C9 color cardstocks….

Here's a side view to see all the layers and snow capped roof tops!!! Oh, and those treeeeeeessssss… And those teeny tiny lamp posts!!! Oh my.

The background was made using the C9 Swirls Dies (one of my all time favorite crafting things)…. I put the fa la la across the top using clear glue. Is anyone else singing the Who-ville song???

Here's the top down view…. The Card Stacks Base is a set of four dies. You die cut the main background piece and then three cross pieces. Glue them into place and then decorate! Believe me – I am challenged by construction cards – but this was so easy. I used the snow drift die to make little hills instead of straight cross pieces. I added glitter glue…

Here's the back. I die cut a second one out of aqua to put on the back to make it colorful. But you don't have to do this step.

Here it is folded flat!! You know I'm extra, so I have pieces hanging off the top. I will use an A6 envelope. If I kept it more simple, It would fit into an A2 envelope. Genius.

Next up is a card I made using the beautiful O Holy Night stamps set. OH MY GOODNESS. That font! The jumbo stamp! The message! I love everything about this. My first idea that popped into my head was "chalkboard technique" for that stamp…. So I made a chalkboard card. But then, after, as I sat and looked at it, it really just looks like a snowy blizzardy night sky! Either way?! LOL. I layered some plaid paper from my stash (from Michael's I think)…

I used the trees and house dies from the same set as the top card. But I made a little country church! I made a cross from woodgrain cardstock. I think it came out perfect.

I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder onto black linen cardstock. After it was embossed, I splattered some white paint/snow onto it. Then I used white pigment ink and a sponge dauber to add some white ink (ie chalkboard style) to the panel.

So…. Picture me taking all these card pictures and then yelling to my husband…. "can you come in here and help me?" So now picture him standing there holding a handful of snow while I am all set with my camera…. "Cue the snowfall!" Yeah, we are weird but we have fun at our house! Ha.

  • Concord & 9th Feature Friday – Beautiful Botanical Turnabout!

Happy New Year's Day! 2021 is here! Wowza! Time for a fresh new start on things and I'm here for it! Today is the last Feature Friday for the December new release from Concord & 9th. Thanks and shout out to the lovely folks at C9 for inviting me to be a guest this month. I love working with them! Today I'm featuring the newest addition to the Turnabout collection – The Botanical Turnabout! It's a lovely and lively floral spray and its gorgeous! I stamped it in pretty shades of pink and green and made a birthday card. Let's get to it!

My finished card is a 5" x 5" square. The turnabouts are big, so I like to make big cards with them! Shows off the design! I stamped in four colors: Ballet Slipper, Honeysuckle, Sprout and Parsley. Pink and green are always a good combo. And especially now as we turn our sights towards Spring crafting! I used the matching dies set to make a birthday card.

I trimmed my background layer down to just under five inches square to fit onto my card. I die cut the fancy diamond from white cardstock and stamped Happy Birthday onto it using Honeysuckle ink. The 'beautiful' die is die cut from Honeysuckle cardstock. I affixed the diamond onto the card and then wrapped a strip of vellum across the diamond. Just a nice soft touch! Then I glued the die cut onto the vellum.

  • Concord & 9th Feature Friday (On a Monday!) Fun monogrammed bag!

Hey there! How was your Christmas? I hope you had a lovely weekend full of joy and Christmas spirit! I can't believe another Christmas has passed. And this week is a new year! We had a quiet Christmas at home. It was a nice rainy day and we watched about 500 Christmas movies all day!! Thank you to everyone who sent me a contribution based on my post from Christmas Eve! You all richly blessed me and I am so grateful. THANK YOU! BLESS YOU!

Last week, we didn't do Concord & 9th Feature Friday because it was Christmas Day…so we're doing Feature Friday today – on a Monday! Oh, and I'll have another project on Friday too. It's been my pleasure to guest design for Concord & 9th this month! Hope you've enjoyed the series also.

Today we are all featuring another project made with the new Weekender Bag stamps and dies. Don't you just love it? Such a great idea and concept! This time I made a cheerful, bright, monogrammed bag with some pretty feminine touches. I think this version of the Weekender Bag would be awesome for shower favors! You could put the bride's initials onto the bag, or the couples' new monogram? Or even a little baby girls' name! The size of the bag allows for candies, gift cards, or small presents. Let's check it out!

I used two of my favorite colors from the C9 color collection: Aqua Sky and Oceanside…. Yummy!! Cute little accents hanging off the side – love how you can customize this set. I wanted a pretty floral touch on my bag, so I used the Stitched Blooms die to emboss the pattern onto the front and back of the bag. It came out perfectly!!

  • Concord & 9th Feature Friday – December New Release – Little Letters!

Happy Friday again! One week until Christmas….and then one more week until a new year! Can you even believe it? I'm praying and hoping that 2021 is a lot better than 2020! Welcome to another edition of Feature Friday for Concord & 9th! I'm guest designing for the C9 December new release (which is already available for shopping) and sharing projects each week made with the new stamps and dies. I always love being a guest for Concord & 9th!! Today the team of guests is featuring some brand new alphabet stamps. My card features the Little Letters stamp set along with some of my very favorite C9 products. And, I made a New Year card!!

My finished card is a white A2 card base layered with gold and dark grey cardstocks then then the top layer of white. Let's look!

I used the "wear" stamp sets to stamp my cute party girl, and her hat. I used the dies to make her a letterboard to hold her new year message! I used the new Little Letters stamp set to stamp the greeting with white pigment ink. Looks so fun!! I have a letterboard in my craft room and I like to change the messages.

  • Concord & 9th Feature Friday – Hexagon Designer Dies and New Cardstock!

Hi everyone! Happy Friday! This was a tough week and I'm happy it's over…. And I have something happy to share with you! As you know, I've been guest designing with Concord & 9th all month to help launch their new color collection. Each week the designers are given a topic/challenge. This week's challenge is 'color spectrum' or use-all-the-colors! Love it! This is my final Feature Friday for July. (Can you believe it's August tomorrow???) Thanks for following along with me all month! CLICK HERE to see all the new items in the Color Collection!

My card today features the cool and clever Hexagon Designer Dies set. It's a grid of tiny hexagons and you can design images or words into it! Kind of like those uber cool hexagon tile floors in fancy coffee shops! The possibilities are endless! I chose to use a flower design and make the flowers into a sort of rainbow pattern! No stamping on this card – all dies and gorgeous cardstock. The finished card is A2 size – and you can see that the die completely covers the front of an A2 card.

I ran the hexagon die through my cutting machine once for each color. I ended up with a big ole pile of tiny hexagons! The frame is in Dove gray. Then I used liquid glue and tweezers to put the colored hexagons into the right places. The sentiment is a pretty happy mail die mounted onto the graphic frame. I used a white gel pen to outline the die, and added a few hearts!

  • Concord & 9th Feature Friday – Color Focus on Sprout and Sea Glass!

Hi party people! It's Friday again! Man, I feel like these weeks are flying by… Is it only me? Days at home seem faster to me and here we are almost to August. Today the hubs and I are out on an adventure. It was time to get out. Haven't left the house in three weeks and I'm getting weird. It's not normal to be in this situation and it's definitely affecting my psyche. I hope and wish that you are having a beautiful day so far.

Today is week #3 of Feature Fridays for Concord & 9th!! WOOHOOO! As you know, we are spending the month of July featuring the new color collection from Concord & 9th with a team of bloggers. Today's assignment was for each of us to choose two colors to focus our projects on. I chose Sea Glass and Sprout! My favorite colors always go towards aquas, teals, greens…so it was an easy choice! I made two cards to share with you. Let's get to it! Here are my two cards. I used Turnabout Stamps on both of them – LOVE me some Turnabouts!

Hey girl!!! This first card is an A2 card base made from the new Wheat Cardstock. I layered Sprout cardstock and then a layer of white cardstock for my top layer. I used the Blooms Turnabout stamp and used bright, happy colors!! That formed my background paper. Once my Turnabout layer was formed I used the Hey Girl die the die cut the word HEY out of it.

The floral layer was affixed over the Sprout green layer with foam tape to create depth and let the HEY show through! I die cut the 'girl' word from rich black cardstock and layered it on top of the opening using clear glue.

A pretty flower die cut from Sorbet cardstock and leaves with Sprout cardstock complete the card. It's SUPER fresh and perfect for a happy hey girl to our friends.

These are my two feature colors for today!

Next up is a big ol square card with a big ol hello! I used the Oh Hello Turnabout stamp (which is now discontinued) and the Say Hello stamp set and dies to create this card. I featured Sea Glass…which is the most beautiful shade of green tinted aqua. GORGEOUS. I combined it with great and teal for a classic color palette.

The strip across the front of the card is the gorgeous Dove cardstock, splattered with a bit of white paint. I layered the hello die with Sea Glass cardstock and some polka dot vellum from my stash.

  • Hip Hip Hooray! Fun watercolor birthday card for Concord & 9th Feature Friday!

Hi friends! Happy Friday! And since it's a July Friday – you know what that means! Concord & 9th Feature Friday! Woot! I'm super honored to be part of the launch team for Concord & 9th's Color Collection!! I'll be sharing projects every Friday this month featuring the new colors. The team has been given certain topics to feature each week. This week we're all sharing a favorite ink or paper technique. I wanted to see how the new ink pads would be to watercolor with, because I love water coloring with ink pads!! I'm going to just tell you that the new inks were GREAT to water color with! Yeah!!

I chose to make a slimline birthday card using some of my fav stamp sets from Concord & 9th…. My finished card is 3.75" x 6.75". It will fit into a 5×7 envelope for mailing. The card base is kraft and I chose this color palette: Cranberry, Buttercup and Wheat.

Concord & 9th Feature Friday. Watercolor with ink pads! New color collection from Concord and 9th. Winter Wear, Daily Wear, Fashion Wear. Birthday card ideas, slimline card ideas, wanda guess.

I used watercolor paper for all the stamped parts of this card. I used my MISTI to get a nice clean impression on the textured paper. I started by stamping and die cutting out the hat, bow and present. The face and the sentiment are stamped directly onto the card. The Buttercup sprinkles are also stamped right onto that top layer. I used Cranberry Cardstock for the bottom layer in between the kraft and white.

Concord & 9th Feature Friday. Watercolor with ink pads! New color collection from Concord and 9th. Winter Wear, Daily Wear, Fashion Wear. Birthday card ideas, slimline card ideas, wanda guess.

To watercolor with the ink pads, I used a stamping block and 'smushed' ink onto it. I used a paint brush and water mixed with the ink to paint. I think the colors stayed true and vivid!! Love how easy it was…The brown for the hair was a mixture of a bunch of colors until I got the desired shade.

I'm loving this clean card design – you could make this in any color! Those sentiments from the Type Talk Stamp Set and perfect for these long cards!!

  • Soaring by to say hi! Sweet Summer Kites card for Feature Friday!

Hey everyone! Soaring by to say hi today with a fun and colorful kite card! Hope you had a good week. I feel like this week went by so fast. Lots going on here in my craft room! So excited about the ink and paper launch from Concord & 9th this week and lots of other good crafty things. It's really hot here and I'm trying not to melt. Haven't even left the house in a week. Isn't that strange?? I usually have just been going out one time a week for errands, groceries etc. I wonder if life will ever return to normal??

I'm super honored to be part of the launch team for Concord & 9th's Color Collection!! I'll be sharing projects every Friday this month featuring the new colors. The team has been given certain topics to feature each week. This week we're talking about some of our favorite color combinations of the new inks!! Well, that was easy and hard! Easy because I love so many color combos…and hard because I had to choose one! I decided upon a bright and happy Summer Color combination: Buttercup, Honeysuckle, Aqua Sky and Midnight! I used the awesome new Kite Turnabout stamp and this card happened!!

My finished card is a 5×5 inch square. I've been making lots of square cards and odd sized cards lately. I let the layout speak to me and then build my card base/card size around it. This one just felt like a square!

I LOVE Turnabout Stamps! Do you have some?? This kite one is SO nice!! It's my first time inking it up… You can see how nicely the inks did on a brand new stamp. Perfect! This was my first try at this turnabout. I stamped the background kites first with my MISTI and my four colors. I trimmed it into a 4.5 x 4.5 inch square and set it aside.

Concord & 9th Buttercup ink, Honeysuckle ink, Midnight Ink, Aqua Sky ink

To build my card I stamped two kites, one Buttercup and one Honeysuckle. I die cut them with the matching dies. Then I die cut a white stitched circle and stamped the sentiment directly onto the circle. I also stamped some little hearts onto the circle.

To finish the card I did a layer of Aqua Sky paper, then my kite stamped paper. I wrapped those two layers with a strip of vellum and attached it to a white card base with foam tape. I affixed the circle in the center and then put the kites on, again with foam tape.

  • Introducing: Concord & 9th Color Collection! Ink pads and papers! Coming this week!

Hi everyone!! I am over the moon excited about today's blog post! I worked really really hard on this post and all the photos and projects and everything. Truly a fun and exciting post that I really put my heart into. I'm glad I can finally share everything with you and tell you what's up with our friends at Concord & 9th! Today I am part of the team helping to launch the first Color Collection from Concord & 9th! Creating in Color! Beautiful ink pads and matching cardstock in gorgeous colors! YIPPEEEE!

At Creativation I was able to see the new color collection in person at the C9 booth… and I was excited back then! But then, you know, 2020 happened and everything kept getting delayed. Well…now it's time! Finally it's time! I have been making projects for a couple of weeks and really have given the inks and papers a crafty workout. Verdict: LOVE. For sure these inks are staying on my desk. They are wonderful. I'll talk more about them later in my post. I have two projects to share today. AND…there is a huge Instagram Hop going on with AMAZING prizes!! I'll tell you the details about that too!

Concord & 9th is one of my favorite companies – you guys already know that! I used new dies from this month's release for my card today! I'll be posting today to launch the festivities, and then I'll be posting every Friday in July – more projects made with the new inks and papers. Soooo a lot happening and I'm so glad. All the new ink pads, cardstock and July stamps/dies will be available in the C9 Store on Thursday, July 9th at 11am EST!! Set your alarm for it!

First up today is a big chunky flower card!! I used six of the new hues to make this one…. SO FRESH! I also used the new Fresh Cut Florals dies that will be released later this week. A whole card with just dies – no stamping on this one. The finished card is slightly larger than an A2 card. I made a custom size for this one. Colors: Honeysuckle, Stardust, Ballet Slipper, Parsley, Aqua Sky and Sorbet. YUM.

Concord & 9th Color Collection. Concord & 9th ink pads and matching cardstock. Concord & 9th Fresh Cut Florals dies, handmade paper flowers, card ideas, Stitched Blooms, Floral card. Wanda Guess

It was super fun and relaxing to sit and die cut flowers and put them together…. You can see that I used the same color ink pad and cardstock to make the florals: I used Honeysuckle cardstock and then inked the edges with Honeysuckle Ink, etc. Gives more depth and dimension to otherwise plain die cuts. I also used a white gel pen to add accents to all the pieces.

I unified the look by making the flower centers all black. Makes it pop and look graphic too. Very modern! The sentiment is also a die cut from black cardstock. I love how this turned out. These flowers are pretty on a card but would be perfect for making a paper wreath, or gluing onto treat boxes or presents!!

Let's talk about that beautiful Stitched Blooms Die! OH MY WORD…. It's a die that makes this amazing design into the paper!!! I think you're going to be seeing this a lot in my projects. I felt like it just added a little something!

Concord & 9th Color Collection. Concord & 9th ink pads and matching cardstock. Concord & 9th Fresh Cut Florals dies, handmade paper flowers, card ideas, Stitched Blooms, Floral card. Wanda Guess

Okay – so the color collection comes in: Full size ink pads, ink cubes, reinkers and cardstock. 22 fresh and fabulous colors of ink. The paper pack includes black and white also. Kraft is called Wheat in this collection. The pinks and greens are luscious… All the ink pads are foam. They are CRISP and clear! So my test of new inks is to use Neenah Solar White paper with a brand new stamp and the brand new ink… These ink pads passed the test with flying colors! NO pooling or blotches… You'll see in my project on Friday – I used tons of inks. They are so nice.

CLICK HERE to read the details about the colors on the C9 website!

I made this adorable little swatch book on a ring to keep track of my colors. I love this project!! Here are all the cardstock colors…

And here is my sweet little swatch book!! EEP. Don't you love it!? I used the Crafty Turnabout Stamp Set, Crafty Dies, Tall Type Alphas and Numbers, and of course the new cardstock. I used the postage stamp die from the Crafty Dies set and die cut one of each color of cardstock. I used a hole punch to punch a hole in the corner of each one. Then I made a front cover and a back cover!! I put them all on a ring that is now happily hanging in my craft room. The #C9 part is the back cover!!

  • Concord & 9th Guest Designer – January 2020 Release – Celebrate You!

Hey hey hey! Happy Friday! And it's my last Feature Friday for Concord & 9th for the January new release! Sad to have my guest designer gig ending… I so love working with the amazing people and products at C9!! Today's card is a bright and colorful birthday card made with the brand new Endless Birthday stamp set! It's such a fun set, perfect for birthday cards for peeps of all ages. I used vivid colors and made a square card to feature those awesome candles. I also popped in some of the balloons from the Tagalongs die set!!

My finished card is a 5×5 inch square. I layered pretty turquoise cardstock and then the semicircle with the candles. This is a pretty clean and simple and graphic layout.

Concord & 9th Endless Birthday stamps and dies. Handmade birthday card with stamps and die cutting. Wanda Guess. Birthday ideas. New release.

The candles and the flames are two separate stamps so it's easy to stamp different colors. I stamped the flames in a pretty yellow ink. I went back with an orange Copic Marker and added a bit of accent color to really look like tiny flames. I die cut the candle image out with a large circle die cut, and then trimmed off the bottom of the circle.

I heat embossed the sentiments onto hot pink banners!

I made my own background paper by using one of the awesome sentiment stamps with some Versamark Ink – and just stamping it over and over on the panel. I also used white ink to splatter the panel. I think the white looks like confetti or something! A few sequins complete the card.

  • Concord & 9th Guest Designer – January 2020 Release – Sending some happy mail!

Hey guys! It's post #2 for me today! Happy Friday indeed! So many fun things to share! Today is my third project for my guest designer gig with Concord & 9th for January's new release! The products we're showcasing and featuring today are the Tall Type Tagalongs Dies and the Tiny Tagalongs Stamp Set. These two new products were made to be used with one of my favorite Concord & 9th Die Sets – Tall Type Alphabet! You guys know I used that one alllll the time. I decided to make a Happy Mail Card using the rainbow image from the Tagalongs Die set, and a pretty and fresh color palette!

This finished card is a white A2 card base, with a layer of soft pink and a second layer of white cardstock. I wanted it light and bright and pretty!

Concord & 9th Tall Type Alphabet. Happy Mail Card with rainbow and letters. Wanda Guess.

I die cut the Happy Mail words from the Tall Type Alphabet (minus that second A of course). Then I die cut the heart and the rainbow from cheerful cardstock. I laid the images out before gluing them down and stamped the sentiment in black in the middle. I also stamped some random hearts onto that top white panel. I used liquid glue and my tweezers to affix the letters and the rainbow to the card.

Concord & 9th Tall Type Alphabet. Happy Mail Card with rainbow and letters. Wanda Guess.

I stamped and die cut out that sweet little letter and tucked it behind the H and the A. I also popped up that little pink heart with a foam dot.

A few clear gems complete this clean and simple card…

Hi there! Greetings on this beautiful Friday! As you're reading this, I'm in Phoenix at Creativation! Woot! Hop over to my Instagram Stories to see what's going on at the show! Friday is for meetings and classes, but I'll be on the show floor all day Saturday and Sunday. Thanks for popping by to visit my blog today. As you know from last week, I'm one of the guest designers for Concord & 9th for the month of January! Yeah! I love guest designing for them!! The products this month are awesome (per usual!) and I'm having a good time making things to share with you. Today is a real treat!

The products we're featuring today are the Purse Builder Dies and the Everyday Purse Stamp Set. OMG – create perfect little paper purses for gift cards or treats. I love it, and I love creating this to show you. I made a designer bag with greys and black and lots of classic elements…And I made it as a birthday purse, complete with a Starbucks card inside. There are so many ways to customize your purse! Tags, and tassels and so much more.

Here's the little purse in my hand to show you the scale and size. EEEK. Like, I realllly love this. I added a tag and a tassel and a little flower from my stash. Shades of grey paper and I'll tell you how I achieved that faux croc texture with a stamp!

Here's a close up! The straps are from grey woodgrain paper. I think it sort of ended up looking like leather!! To make the purse you die cut two sides and glue them together on the taps. REALLY simple. There are dies for the straps and the rings, everything. Very intuitive to assemble.

The purse stamp set has sayings that fit onto the tag perfectly. Concord & 9th always thinks of everything!! Okay, so here's my tip on the texture… It's a pineapple stamp!! LOL!! I got out all my C9 stamp sets and looked at them with fresh eyes… What could be a cool texture on this purse?…. See below.

  • Hey Girl!! Concord & 9th Guest Designing for the January release!

Hey Girl, Hey!!! Happy FRIDAY!!! Cheers to a nice weekend ahead! I'm popping in to announce that I am a Guest Designer for Concord & 9th for January! WOOOOT! That means each Friday, for the next four weeks, I'll be sharing a card I made with products from their awesome new January 2020 product release. Lemme tell ya, there's some fun stuff coming! Can't wait to share my projects with you. If you can't wait, everything is available now in the Concord & 9th store! I'm delighted to be a guest designer again because you guys know this is one of my favorite companies.

Today's card is bright and cheerful and colorful! I love crafting with these pretty shades of aqua, pink and lime. So refreshing in the middle of winter, don't you think? This finished card is a 5×5 inch square card. I used the brand new Lovely Lattice Turnabout Stamp to make my own background paper and then used dies and stamps to create my sentiments. All the supplies are listed at the bottom of my post.

I started by making my own white card base. Then I layered aqua paper and then my background stamped paper. I layered another aqua and white layer as the top/focal point for my other images. Very graphic and clean. All that vivid color is grounded with some pops of rich black. White embossing on black cardstock is always a good look!!

To make the background I used the Turnabout stamp and four shades of inks…so fun and easy. I'm kinda obsessed with Turnabout stamps!!

I had so much fun mixing and matching vellum flowers, hearts and word dies together. Black enamel dots are the right touch for those pretty flowers.

  • Very Merry Stockings!

Hello my dear, sweet, crafty friends! Popping in today with my last two Christmas cards for 2019! Can't believe it's here! Time to wind down things and be in the moment and enjoy these last few days before Christmas. Really get into the meaning of it all and spend time with friends and family. I start to mentally shift this week each year – from hustle and bustle – to quiet and calm. Remembering the reason for the season. Whatever is going to get done is done, and whatever isn't done, well it just isn't going to get done. And that's okay. It took me a long time to admit that but it is okay. I'm a reformed perfectionist as I'm getting older!! I'm posting these fun cards today and then I will see you next week!! Wishing you and yours a very very special Christmas!!

Next week I have a MASSIVE giveaway!!! I am not even kidding!!! There are some special things for me to celebrate, and my favorite companies are helping me out. It's a bit of a secret for now but please stay tuned!!

My two Christmas cards for today were made with awesome supplies from my dear friends at Concord & 9th! Cheery, fun, colorful and happy – that describes these cards. What a joy to create, too! Hope they make you smile!

This first card is a 5×5 inch square card made from white cardstock. I layered some pretty snowflakes paper and then another white layer. The stockings are the stars of the show on both cards. I'll talk more in detail about each one as we go through the post!

The second card is an A2 size Kraft card base. I layered some striped paper from my stash and then a stitched rectangle in white. I loooooove kraft and red together at the holidays!! The stocking and the items inside – and the sentiment – are all from the amazing Stocking Stuffers stamps and dies.

The stamp set comes with two stockings and then three different bunches of cute items to pop out of the top! I instantly thought of 'brown paper packages tied up with string' and so I made my package by paper piecing kraft cardstock!! I colored the items with Copic Markers. I have some photos later on of how I made the stocking!!

Everything is layered onto the card with foam squares. A few clear gems and white gel pen accents complete the details. Oh, and a sweet little heart! The sentiment was stamped in black right onto the top layer.

Here's a close up of the stocking. I looooove how this came out! I got the idea to use the Ornamentals Dies to create the pattern on the stocking!! And my idea actually worked out! Red and white are so pretty.

In this photo there is the Stocking Stuffers die and the Ornamental die! I die cut two stockings, one white and one red. Then I laid the red stocking over that center piece of the ornament die and cut out the alpine pattern. Then I glued the red stocking on top of the white stocking. Yeah!

For my second card I used the wonderful Tall Type Alphabet dies (a new favorite thing in my studio) to spell out Very Merry! So I quickly realized I needed more card real estate to make it all fit. That's how this became a square card! LOL. I stamped and die cut the stocking stuffers and colored with Copics.

I stamped a few snowflakes onto the top white layer and added gems and snow! (this one kind of looks more like a blizzard than a light dusting of snow! HAHA).  I also stamped some snowflakes onto the stocking (red ink on red cardstock).

The tiny tag and bow come with the die set!!! Perfect!! I drew the heart with a Copic marker.
