Pumpkin Spice Stitching Project!

Hi crafty people!! How are ya? I’m popping in here on a Sunday to share cross stitch project! Woohoooo! Lately, I have become kind of obsessed with cross stitching! I used to embroider and cross stitch when I was a little girl – with my mom and grandma. But it has been YEARS (like a lot of years) since I picked up a needle and some floss. There are so many fun and fabulous patterns now. I have quickly become entranced by another hobby! LOL. One of the many reasons I love cross stitching is that it’s easy to bring it with me everywhere. Just a few supplies in a small case and you’re ready to craft anywhere. Today I’m sharing the first one I’ve actually finished! LOL. It’s been delivered to its recipient so now I want to show you! Do you cross stitch?? I am loving it!

Here is my piece, mounted and framed (and bowed!)

Counted Cross Stitch. Pumpkin Spice by Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery. Made by Wanda Guess, a blog called wanda, ffo, finishing cross stitch, fall, autumn, pumpkin, stitching, beginner

This adorable pattern is from The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery. Their stuff is soooooooo cute!!! I used Aida 14 fabric for this one. I finished it with a frame from Hobby Lobby and some fabric from my local quilt store!

I used a bit of quilting batting and a easy press board to mat both the gingham and the cross stitch piece. Just looks a little nicer to me with a bit of puff. I used a hot glue gun to attach the pieces together, and then to the frame. Look at that tiny coffee cup!!! So sweet!!

What a gorgeous gift you made. I was also crazy for cross stitch for many years.. I have several seasonal hand towels that I still use. It is always fun to revisit a craft. My sister-in-law gave me a kit to make ornaments for my Halloween tree for my b’day. Got to get to that now that my cards are done. Happy Sunday!

I’m finding it so amazing that people are discovering counted cross stitch all over again! I love it! I’m a quilter & was watching a you tube video from the Fat Quarter Shop & was amazed to see they were going to be doing episodes on cross stitch. You may already be watching as your framing is much like they would do. I just love that they’re showing people how to frame without going to the frame shop. I think a lot of people stay away from the craft bcuz they can’t afford to have their projects framed. About the same as having a long arm quilter do your quilting! Your project is lovely Wanda. Always enjoy all you do.

I have been cross-stitching since 1975, and it is still one of my favorite hobbies! I LOVE this little punkin piece and I love how you framed it. I just finished a little cat & pumpkin but I haven’t done anything with it…stamping gets in the way, LOL! I think a lot of stampers were cross-stitchers too..hopefully we still get out the needle and floss occasionally! TFS!!

Love it!!! I’ve been stitching in one form or another for over 45 years (where does the time go?!!). I’ve loved seeing your stitching progress on IG. 🙂

I love to cross stitch and always bring a project when I travel. I too am a fan of Frosted Pumpkin and can also recommend the British Magazine, Cross Stitcher. It’s available at Barnes and Noble or as an e-subscription. Your framed finish is terrific!

I saw this on instragam, and I love it! I stopped cross-stitching many years ago, but after seeing your beautiful work, you make me want to pick it up again!
My favorite one I made was Raggedy Ann and Andy reading a book – I was inspired by a Raggedy Ann cloth doll my mom made me 40 years ago. I still have the doll AND the pattern.

Not sure my old eyes could handle cross-stitching anymore, but I enjoyed it while it lasted. This framed beauty is so fun and love how you finished it, bow and all. You are SO talented, Wanda!
