  • More Papertrey Ink June 2017 Release: Introducing Herb Garden Mini Kit & Quoted True Friends!

Hi! I'm back with more projects from the June 2017 Papertrey Ink new release! It's been a fun week showing you everything! And, Happy Father's Day to all of you as well! And Happy Sunday! I'm still away on my little getaway to the Bay Area and I'll be home tonight. Can't wait to tell you about it. Hope you're having an awesome weekend. It's going to be over 100 degrees every day this coming week where I live. Yikes! I wish we had a swimming pool at our house!!

Today I'm sharing two cards – One made with the fabulous new Mini Kit called Herb Garden, and one with the newest Quoted stamps – called True Friends. All of the brand new release products are available in the PTI store now. Hope you found something you like! CLICK HERE to see the new release.

The newest addition to the Mini Kits is gorgeous! It's called Herb Garden, and, as you would expect, has beautiful herb images and pretty words, beautiful linen papers, and awesome matching dies… Sigh. I think that gardening themed products are perfect for so many occasions. We all have that one friend who has a brilliant green thumb! And we all need serene images of greenery for hard occasions. I have so many ideas for this set. I used the stamps and dies today, but the matching papers are GORGEOUS! I'm going to have to try to not hoard them. LOL.

My card started with a kraft woodgrain card base. Then I layered beautiful green paper – just a sliver. Then I stamped the herb images onto a white panel to create my own patterned paper. Then I stamped and die cut my main image and placed it on a crisp tag. Some twine finishes it all off. Because, heck, gardening cards must have twine!

PAPERTREY INK HERB GARDEN MINI KIT. JUNE 2017 RELEASE. CARD BY WANDA GUESS

I used several shades of green and brown to create a natural feel to the card. When I put the parsley onto the tag, it kind of got lost. So I stamped some background images in a soft brown tone to ground it. I stamped the words in darker brown.

So elegant and classy!!! I love that each of the herbs is different and unique, but they all look good together mixed.

My next card uses the brand new Quoted: True Friends stamp set! I also decided to pair it with the fun camping images from the Hello Mother, Hello Father stamp set. I started with a rich green card base and layered kraft cardstock. You can see that I used the woodgrain stencil to make my kraft layer have some interest. I stamped all the images in brown, and colored with my Copic Markers.

For the front piece, I rounded the corners of the paper. This is cream cardstock, not bright white, for a natural look. I splattered some light tan paint over the images once they were all colored in. I laced some twine around the top of the kraft layer.

  • More Papertrey Ink June 2017 Release: Introducing Land That I Love and Textile Impressions!

Hi crafty friends! Happy Saturday! I hope you're having a nice weekend! Today I'm going to my first ever Planner Meet Up! I have no idea what to expect, but I know for sure it will be FUN! I can't wait to hang out with happy crafty girls all afternoon and evening (and eat pizza too!). Looking forward to seeing everyone's amazing planners, doing some creative things, and laughing. I'm also excited and looking forward to meeting one of my online crafty friends in person too. It's at an awesome store, owned by a totally awesome lady – called The Island's Creative Escape! YAY!! Are you a planner girl?? Have you ever been to a meet up??? Tell me!!

Today, as part of the June Release Week Festivities for Papertrey Ink, I'm introducing two more projects with two more new stamp sets! One is a beautiful set perfect for 4th of July (Land that I Love), and the other is a fresh and funky set of design elements (Textile Impressions)! Everything for the new release is now available in the PTI online store!

First up, a 4th of July card! Yeah, 4th of July is coming soooooon! How is that even possible? Okay, never mind about that. Hahaha. I love kraft and red, so I started with that as the basis for my card. I used the new Mix and Mat Pretty Brackets Die to make the focal point of the card. Then I used white ink, and red, blue and yellow inks to randomly stamp the fireworks all over. I added the beautiful sentiment in black. All of the stamps are from the new Land That I Love stamp set.

PAPERTREY INK LAND THAT I LOVE STAMP SET. JUNE RELEASE. CARD BY WANDA GUESS. 4TH OF JULY

I used Vintage Photo Distress Ink to edge around the center die piece. This makes the top kraft part stand out against the bottom kraft base. I added some clear rhinestones for the centers of some of the fireworks.

PAPERTREY INK LAND THAT I LOVE STAMP SET. JUNE RELEASE. CARD BY WANDA GUESS. 4TH OF JULY

I felt like the card needed one big pop of color so I added a bright gold star at the bottom!

The next card was made with the new Textile Impressions stamp set. It's a set full of textures and graphics that you can mix and match to form design elements. Very creative! There are also a few perfect sentiments. I used the one chevron image and some fresh colors to stamp randomly onto a little note. The note was cut from the PTI Spiral Notebook Die. I thought it was nice with that sentiment!!

I layered some pretty PTI patterned paper and added a bow and a pin to the card for accents. This is very clean and simple and I kinda like it!!

Thank you again for coming by today! Have an awesome weekend! See you tomorrow!

  • More Papertrey Ink June Release: Introducing Humming Along!

Hi everyone! The June 2017 Papertrey Ink Release is now live, and all the new items are available in the PTI Store! What is your favorite new item from the June release?? It's hard to pick a favorite this time around (okay every time). For the next few days I'll be sharing all of my projects with you and I can't wait for you to see everything. I posted on the 13th with my three projects for the Garden Party set (scroll back to see those)! Today I'm featuring and introducing the set called Humming Along. It's so unique! I don't think I've ever seen a stamp set with fuchsia flowers in it. Fuchsias remind me of my grandmother. She always had these beautiful plants right by her front door of her house and I have that memory firmly in my mind. Also, this set has morning glories and sweet little fluttering hummingbirds.

My card today is very colorful!!! Get out your sunglasses! Bright green, pretty pinks, and gorgeous turquoise….ahhhhhh. There are matching dies for this set, so creating a card is easy as 1, 2, 3. I started with a green card base and used the A2 Scalloped Noted die to make it into a pretty scallop card. Then I layered a piece of bright white. If you look closely, you can see that I misted on some aqua paint mist for a little interest in the background.

PAPERTREY INK HUMMING ALONG STAMP SET. JUNE RELEASE. PROJECT BY WANDA GUESS

I stamped and die cut out two fuchsias and one hummingbird. I used my MISTI to line up the stamp color layers. I added pretty Diamond Stickles over the top to look like the sunshine is hitting the flowers and the bird wings.

PAPERTREY INK HUMMING ALONG STAMP SET. JUNE RELEASE. PROJECT BY WANDA GUESS

How sweet is that hummingbird? This is the small one, there is a larger one too!! You can stamp the birds and the flowers in so many color combinations.

PAPERTREY INK HUMMING ALONG STAMP SET. JUNE RELEASE. PROJECT BY WANDA GUESS

The sentiments in this set and unique and beautiful and meaningful. I will pull this set out to use with other sets – just to use the sentiments. Lovely.

  • Papertrey Ink June 2017 Release Week: Introducing Garden Party & Ways to Say – Hello!

Hey there! I'm back already! Because…it's June Release Week for Papertrey Ink! I love release week! I will be sharing TEN projects in the next week all made with the new items from the latest release from PTI. Are you ready? I'm excited to share, and always shocked, at how fast a month passes by. The June products are a great mix of everything good for Summer, flowers, 4th of July, innovative dies, and beautiful sentiments. Can't wait to show you everything – so hope you visit often in the upcoming days. Be sure to visit the Official Papertrey Ink Blog for ALL the details of release week, and the fun activities that go with this time! All of the new products will be available for purchase on the 15th at 10pm EST. Woot!

Today I'm helping to introduce two new stamp sets – Garden Party and Ways to Say: Hello! They worked so perfectly together, that all three of my cards for today use both stamp sets. I've also used the matching dies for both sets. And, on my third card I used the awesome new Edgers Dies!  I tried to shake it up and show you some different ways to use the sets, and some different color combinations, too. Thanks for visiting today!

First up is a super bright and colorful one layer stamped card. It was really fun to use vivid and happy colors to create floral clusters on a crisp white layer. My card base is the beautiful Bright Buttercup paper. The sentiments are in rich black for contrast.

PAPERTREY INK JUNE RELEASE GARDEN PARTY STAMP SET

I'm going to use this Hello stamp A LOT! I know it. It's the perfect size for cards and also for the front of envelopes. Sure to cheer up anyone! You can see that I added just a couple of pearls to the finished card for shimmer and shine.

PAPERTREY INK JUNE RELEASE WAYS TO SAY HELLO STAMP SET

I did just a tiny bit of masking on that big flower. The rest was freehand stamping. This would make a pretty tropical party invite! Aloha!

    PAPERTREY INK DESIGN TEAM

Next up, I went for a more muted color palette, some gingham, and a country feeling. I love a good kraft card base! I layered the PTI gingham paper onto my card base then cut a smaller white layer with a touch of Pure Poppy. I stamped the flowers into one big bouquet off to one side. I'm all about yellow right now…

PAPERTREY INK GARDEN PARTY STAMPS AND DIES

The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed on a strip of black cardstock and cut into a banner by hand. I layered it onto the card with foam tape.

PTI WAYS TO SAY HELLO STAMPS

    PAPERTREY INK GARDEN PARTY

And lastly, I used kraft again, but this time with white and Hawaiian Shores paper! Pow! Look at that pretty Hello die! So fun. Here is one of the new Edgers Dies in action too. I stamped and die cut a few of the flowers and leaves and made an accent in the V created by the edger die.

    PAPERTREY INK GARDEN PARTY

I used PTI Snow White Ink on kraft paper for the flowers and leaves.

PAPERTREY INK TO THE POINT EDGERS DIES

That's it for me today! Remember, everything new is for sale on the 15th at 10pm EST. I'll be back on Friday with more (much more) inspiration from the new release. Until then, have a great week. Thanks for stopping by!

  • Papertrey Ink Throwback Thursday! Rainbow Stripes Dies!

Hi everyone! At Papertrey Ink, it's Throwback Thursday time! I'll be joining in throughout the year as we feature stamp sets from previous releases! It's a fun way to get new inspiration from stamp sets we already have and love. Or a good way to find new stamps to play with too! Today we are featuring the Rainbow Stripes Die Set! Be sure to click over to the Papertrey Ink Blog for even more inspiration from other design team members! I'm happy to have you here today! I have two posts today! Both are Papertrey Ink so scroll to see the other post. Thank you for hanging in there with me all week as I have so many blog posts! And, thank you for all the nice comments!!

My brain came up with many, many ideas for using the cool Rainbow Stripes Dies! You can make these stripes in any color, you can put them horizontally or vertically…they work for feminine or masculine cards, and on and on!! I decided to use my favorite PTI cardstock colors and make a super bright and cheery card sure to brighten someone's mailbox! Supplies are listed at the bottom of my post.

Papertrey Ink Throwback Thursday. Rainbow Stripes Dies. Card by Wanda Guess PTI Design Team

I started with an A2 card base in bright white. My stripes were die cut using Hawaiian Shores, Raspberry Fizz, and Bright Buttercup cardstock. I layered the striped down the center of my card and then had fun embellishing them! I thought a nice big butterfly would look good! I die cut the top layer of the butterfly out of vellum for a soft look.

The sentiment is very striking when it's the only pop of rich true black on the card! I love these Bloomin' sentiment dies!!!

  • More Papertrey Ink May Release: Heart and Sole!

What day is today?? LOL!! Thanks for hanging in there with me yesterday with THREE blog posts!! I hope you found something fun and inspiring along the way! Yes, I'm back again!!! I told you I was busy this week! It's been FUN. So many new stamping toys to play with. Today is another day of inspiration from the brand new May 2017 Papertrey Ink release! And, today's card has a lot of….sole! The new stamp set I'm introducing is called Heart and Soul, and it's perfect for the athletes and hikers in your life. Really innovative and creative stamps with matching dies to create running shoes, work boots, and hiking boots! Papertrey Ink always surprises us with awesome new things.

My husband is an avid hiker so I knew exactly what kind of card I wanted to make when I saw this stamp set! A card for my love and the person who walks by my side, every step of the way. I used colors found in nature – green brown, kraft….

    BLOG 1

I started with a nice deep green card base and layered on some leafy patterned paper. Then I added two layers of kraft paper. I stamped on the top layer in brown ink and Antique Linen Distress Ink. I die cut the boot print out with the matching die and layered it onto the card with foam tape. The stamp set has several small stamps that fit into the openings in the boot (and the running shoe in the set). It was fun to mix and match. I used the tiny star stamp to add a few accents.

    BLOG 1

I finished off the card with some natural twine to add another element to my card. It looks like rope!!

    BLOG 1

I hope you will check out this new stamp set – be sure to see it if you have runners in your family. Some of the other designers made some really amazing and colorful running cards out of it. Until we meet again – take care! Thanks for coming by! XOXO

  • More Papertrey Ink May Release: Out of this World Mini Kit!

Hi there friends! Oh Gosh! I have three blog posts today!!! I hope you're hanging in there with me! I don't know whether I'm coming or going!! I am part of an awesome Hero Arts Blog Hop today and it's my third guest designer date for MFT Sketch Challenge, and I'm also here to introduce you to a brand new Mini Kit from Papertrey Ink! YAY! This mini kit is called, appropriately, "Out of this World" and it's full of really fabulous planet and space themed items. It's SO MUCH FUN!! I'm imagining party favors and invitations and cool cards for your scientist friends. So many ideas!! The colors in the kit are wonderful – blues, teals, greens, and orange. LOVE. Yes, this one is cool. CLICK HERE to see everything that comes in the kit. It's a lot!!

I made a cool card, and because of the preprinted sheets and die cuts, it came together quick and easy. I made my card base out of PTI cardstock, and then layered one of the beautiful space papers onto it. I die cut out the planets, rocket and words…BAM. A card! I used some cool lime green embossing powder from my craft stash to add one more punch of color onto a vellum strip. Lastly I added some rhinestones to look like stars in the sky! I know that my photos don't do the colors justice. These papers really are so rich and pretty.

The kit comes with matching die cuts for everything!!! The planets were die cut and then mounted onto the card with foam squares. Easy peasy.

  • Papertrey Ink Release Week! Introducing Quoted – Dream Big!

Hello creative and crafty friends! Today is day FOUR of the wonderful May 2017 Release Week Festivities for Papertrey Ink! Yahoooo! And, happy Saturday! I hope you have a glorious weekend planned full of fun in the sun! It was a gorgeous week here in Sacramento and we have been planting flowers like crazy and eating lots of yummy strawberries and fresh asparagus. Spring is in FULL swing and it's lovely. The new release from PTI this month has some really cool and unique items. On trend and so fun to create with. There is a new Make it Market Kit coming soon and this new release has a Mini Kit that is "out of this world!" CLICK HERE to go to the Official PTI Blog to read all about everything going on this week and into next week as the design team rolls out all the new goodies. All the new products will be available for purchase in the PTI Store on Monday May 15th at 10pm EST.

Today I'm introducing the new stamp set called Quoted: Dream Big! I created three different cards to show you how versatile this stamp set it. It's a small set, but it packs a big design punch. All of the individual lines of the quote are separate stamps so it's very easy to stamp in different colors and/or separate out the words. You'll see! Let's get started! Thanks for coming by today.

First up is a very colorful way to use the Quoted Dream Big stamp set. I started with a card base in Smoky Shadow Cardstock and white heat embossed the moon and stars and the top and bottom lines of the quote. (The moon and stars are from another new stamp set coming soon! It's called Out of this World) Then I white heat embossed the rest of the lines of the quote onto my favorite shades of PTI cardstock and attached them with foam tape.

Papertrey Ink May 2017 Release. Quoted Dream Big stamp set. Card by Wanda Guess. PTI design team

White heat embossing always looks so crisp and fancy. I love it!! And I really love it on this Raspberry Fizz Cardstock. I added matching enamel dots from my stash. (I have enough enamel dots to last me the next 500 years!)

Anything you dream can come true!!! This would be an awesome graduation card!! You could even personalize it in the school colors of the grad.

For this next card I used the same stamp set and created a vintage looking card. I used the AMAZING new Mix and Mat Herringbone Die set (with the cool photo corners) as the frame for the quote. Here I stamped in shades of brown, aqua and light green for a softer effect.

The frame is attached to the card using foam tape. The card base is made from Ocean Tides Cardstock.

  • Papertrey Ink 2017 Anniversary Set – Grand Finale!

Hi everyone! Today I'm here to share some projects made with the lovely new 2017 Papertrey Ink Anniversary Stamp Set! It's called Grand Finale – and it's a beauty! What is an Anniversary set you ask?? Well, the anniversary stamp set is released once a year, and is a special customer appreciation set that can only be purchased with PTI reward points. Rewards points are earned by shopping all year with us at PTI. CLICK HERE to see how it works!

This new set is so beautifully modern and pretty. I love all the florals, and the leaf motifs are spectacular. I have to honestly say that I was overwhelmed with ideas for this set. It was super hard for me to focus and decide what to make! So I decided to keep it really clean, simple and classy and do some one layer cards using the bits and pieces. Sometimes I overdo it with my cards, and it's good to come back to graphic and clean once in a while! I made three cards to share with you! If you don't have enough rewards points to get the anniversary set this time around, these cards can be replicated with any of the gorgeous Floral stamp sets from PTI!!

Click over to the Official Papertrey Ink Blog for even more inspiration. Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you're having a wonderful week.

I used the beautiful A2 Noted Scalloped die to make a Kraft card base for this first card. then I layered with bright white cardstock. I used one of the flower elements to randomly stamp flowers, centers, and dots on the white layer. I used colors to look like sunflowers (I love sunflowers!). The sentiments for this set are in a beautiful font, and I stamped the hello in rich black ink. I accented the card with some pretty twine and a black enamel dot at the top. The white layer is affixed to the card base using foam tape.

Next up is this card with lots of white space! I love it when other stampers make cards with lots of white space. But, to be honest, it kind of freaks me out! LOL. Here's my take on a very graphic card with no layering! The only layer on this one is made with the beautiful banners dies from PTI. The hello fit perfectly onto it! (Supplies at the bottom of my post). I used bright cheerful colors of green, red, and teal. I added a few red enamel dots for accents.

Papertrey Ink 2017 Anniversary stamp set. Grand Finale. CAS card by Wanda Guess. PTI Design Team

I adore the gingham paper from PTI! I thought it would pair nicely with this set, too. For this card I used the Edgers Dies. These come in a set of two – one for each card orientation: vertical or horizontal. They make a beautiful edge on your card, or layers. I stamped the large round leaves onto a circle die and then stamped the cool flowers in a bright pink I added dots of blue to match the gingham paper. You can see I used a small strip of vellum under the circle for a bit more interest. A few clear gems were added at the end of the process.

  • More Papertrey Ink April Release: Gran’s Garden and Quoted-Start Again!

This is my SECOND post for today! Scroll down after this one to see my post for PTI Throwback Thursday featuring Dot Spot! Dang! That's a lotta blog posts this week! Thank you for coming by each day to see all the new projects! CLICK HERE for all the new items!

So, this post is my fourth and final release week post for the new Papertrey Ink April 2017 release! Today I have two cards to share with you in this post. Both of these have a kind of vintage and feminine feeling to them. And, they would be nice cards for sympathy cards or encouragement cards. Unfortunately we have to send out these kinds of cards too… I know that when someone is feeling sad and down there is something really heartfelt about a handmade card coming in the mail. I hope I give you some ideas today in that regard.

First up is a card featuring the lovely new Gran's Garden Stamp Set and Dies. Beautiful layered florals and leaves. SO pretty. I paired the flowers with the gorgeous new sentiment set called Pen and Ink. I started with a dark grey card base (Smoky Shadow cardstock) and inked the sentiment in white ink. Then I layered the flowers and leaves for the color on the card.

Papertrey Ink New Release Gran's Garden stamp set. Project by Wanda Guess. PTI Design Team. Pen and Ink Stamp set for sentiment.

The card base is A2 and made from Smoky Shadow cardstock. Then I layered another layer of Smoky Shadow cardstock with foam tape. I stamped the sentiment in white and then speckled white ink splatters over it. The tiny accent flowers are also stamped in white ink.

Papertrey Ink New Release Gran's Garden stamp set. Project by Wanda Guess. PTI Design Team. Pen and Ink Stamp set for sentiment

I stamped and die cut several flowers and leaves and then layered them together in the corners of the card using foam tape. I added some clear droplets for a finishing touch. I will add a layer of white cardstock to the inside of the card to write on.

Papertrey Ink New Release Gran's Garden stamp set. Project by Wanda Guess. PTI Design Team. Pen and Ink Stamp set for sentiment

I used my MISTI tool to line up the layers on the flowers. Works like a dream every time!

The font used in the Pen and Ink stamp set is really beautiful. That set is going to get used a lot in my studio!

And, my final card for release week is a shabby chic encouragement card made with the new Quoted: Start Again Stamp. It's so lovely. I used cream cardstock for my card base and center layer instead of bright white. I used the We R Memory Keepers 6×6 Indian Summer paper pad for all the patterned paper layers. Instead of using black ink, I used dark brown – this also adds to the vintage feeling of the card.

Papertrey Ink New Release Quoted Start Again stamp set. Card by Wanda Guess. PTI Design Team

I stamped the large stamp twice. Once on my card layer and once on a scrap paper. I hand cut out the two banners and layered them on to the main stamp for some dimension. I colored the flowers and banners using Copic Markers to match the paper. Pretty mustard and grey blue tones. I inked the edges using Antique Linen Distress Ink and a sponge dauber.

I wrapped a bit of twine around the layers and finished with a bauble from my stash… I really love adding these little details to my cards. It's like putting on your earring after you're all dressed!

The release went live last Saturday. CLICK HERE to see all the new items. You might want to grab a cup of coffee (or a pot of coffee) since I have FIVE projects to share today! What??? FIVE? Yep, you heard that right! (You may have seen a few of these projects already on my featured post last week) Everything featured today is all about birthdays – cards, packages and tags. I now have a great stash of bday cards at my house. You can never have enough bday cards right? That is the number one occasion I make cards for – how about you? There are lots of new stamps and dies to pick from at Papertrey Ink for birthday crafting. Let's get started!

First up is a birthday card I made with the new Cuddly Cat Dies! EEEEP! This is the cutest die set ever! I used bright and happy colors for this one!

Papertrey Ink New Release Cuddly Cat Dies. Project by Wanda Guess. PTI Design Team

I started with a card base made from Soft Stone cardstock. I layered a piece of crisp white cardstock on top. For my focal point (the kitty) I die cut two white circles and layered them. This helped him to not be 'floating around' out there in all that white space. I use this trick a lot on my clean and simple cards. It adds interest, without adding another color to the mix.

Papertrey Ink New Release Cuddly Cat Dies. Project by Wanda Guess. PTI Design Team

Next I got out lots of my favorite colors of cardstock and die cut all the pieces out. Once the pieces were cut out, I used Copic Markers to add accents to the fish, the flowers, and the cat's stripes. This is a great trick for adding extra pizzazz to cardstock die cuts. I used my tweezers to glue all the little pieces together. The fishy is attached to his tummy with foam tape. For the sentiment I white heat embossed onto a strip of Smoky Shadow cardstock and attached it to the card with foam tape. I sprinkled the flowers around the cat and then added enamel dots at the very end.

Next up is a pretty gift box topper I made with the gorgeous and luxurious Papertrey Ink felt! YUM. It cuts like a dream in my Big Shot. I used the brand new Flower Mandalas II dies set and created a lovely flower for the top of a birthday gift. I love to jazz up a birthday box. I also used some of the small elements from the Mandala to adorn a crisp white matching tag. This project was part of my pre-release featured post so CLICK HERE to read more about it!

For the next birthday card I used some of the small elements from the Flower Mandalas II dies to create yellow tulip accents! Another clean and simple card, this time with beautiful Bright Buttercup yellow! I used the new Ways to Say Birthday stamp set and the Happy Birthday Die to make the greeting. Black and yellow always look nice together. I started with a yellow card base and layered crisp white. This card was also on my post last week! CLICK HERE to read how I made this card!

Are you still with me? Two more cards to go!! Next up is a BRIGHT and happy birthday wishes card using the Ways to Say Birthday stamp set and Happy Birthday Die. I started with a white card base and layered Pure Poppy and then white again for the card layers. Then I randomly stamped birthday wishes in all the colors of the rainbow! I finished with die cutting the happy birthday die twice and layering it for a shadow effect. CLICK HERE to read my previous post about this card!

And lastly a classic birthday card in a classic color combination with watercoloring! This card started with a Classic Kraft card base and then layers of Blueberry Sky paper and crisp white paper. There is a strip of vellum across the center of the two layers.

Papertrey Ink New Release Initial Sentiments Birthday stamp set. Card by Wanda Guess. PTI Design Team. Distress Ink watercolor

I stamped and heat embossed Happy Birthday several times on a strip of plain vellum and wrapped it around the colored layers before attaching that part to the card base with foam tape. Then I stamped and white heat embossed the HB onto a die cut circle of watercolor paper. I used two shades of Distress Ink to watercolor the circle to match the blue cardstock. I dried this part with my heat tool and the attached it with foam tape.

  • More Papertrey Ink April Release: Year of Psalms April, and Circled Symbols!

Hello everyone! Today is my second of four posts this week introducing the brand new Papertrey Ink April 2017 stamp release! WAHOOOO! Today I am sharing two cards I made with new stamps and dies from the collection. CLICK HERE to see everything new! I literally have been sitting on these cards for a couple of weeks and it's so fun to share them with you now. One card is made using the latest edition to the Psalms collection and one card was made with a super cool and hip set of circled symbols. Thanks for joining me again today!

First up is a floral, natural card made with the Year of Psalms April stamp as the main focal point. Such a beautiful verse in wonderful fonts! I featured the stamp using the new Mix and Mat Scallops Die and then accented the main piece using flowers and leaves from the Gran's Garden stamp set! Supply links at the bottom of my post.

I started with an A2 card base made from Classic Kraft Cardstock. I die cut the scalloped mat from crisp white paper and then stamped the verse in rich black ink. It fits perfectly! Since the words in the sentiment are not all straight across I used the PSALM word at the very bottom of the stamp to line up everything and get a straight image.

After I stamped the verse, I stamped and die cut several flowers and leaves from the Gran's Garden Stamp Set. You can see the leaves are two toned… I did this by inking the same stamp in two colors before stamping onto the paper. I love this effect and use it quite often. The matching dies make it a dream to cut out and make your project look crisp and finished.

I attached the flowers and the leaves to the card using foam tape. I added glittery enamel dots to the centers of the flowers for another pop of color.

Next up is a bright and cheerful card with a rainbow color palette, stamped with the new Circled Symbols stamp set! LOVE. Gosh, this is so hip and on trend. I looooove it. There are loads of symbols that work together to spell out sayings! You can create your own fun puzzles. Like Deer Friend or Mr and Mrs. I chose to use lots of the symbols and splash them across the page in a random pattern with rainbow colors!

Papertrey Ink New Release Circled Symbols stamp set. Project by Wanda Guess. PTI design team

After I stamped the main circles in color, I went back with the outline circles and stamped them in rich black. Lastly I added sprinkles of small stars and hearts. I always love a good typewriter font! This is perfect and I'll use this sentiment a lot I know! I added some rhinestones to finish off the card and mounted it onto a Pure Poppy card base for another pop of red.

  • More Papertrey Ink April New Release: Made with Love Stamps and Tags!

Good morning and Happy Monday! Did you have a nice Easter? It was pouring rain here in Sacramento again and I felt bad for all the people who had picnics and BBQ's planned for the day. We had a really lovely and peaceful Easter Holiday and I hope you did too! The Papertrey Ink New Release for April went live on Saturday (CLICK HERE TO SEE IT ALL) and this week I will be sharing all of my projects made with the brand new items. I'll be posting the next four days in a row and I hope you will join me as I introduce the new stamps and dies. As always, there is some great stuff and I have been really anxious to share with you!

Today I'm sharing the new Made with Love Stamp Set and Tags. The stamp set is perfect for making tags for anything handmade or homemade. I love that it includes words for sewing, knitting, and crocheting too! I will use this a lot since I love to personalize a gift. Some of you may know that I started learning how to crochet last Winter! So far, my  learning to crochet really has just involved buying lots of gorgeous yarn…and making two things! LOL. I love it though and I need to get back to practicing so I can get better.

Here is one of the scarves I made with some beautiful plum colored alpaca yarn. I made two different tags to show you how the word stamps all work together!  There is one stamp set and three new tags dies sets. Supply links are at the bottom of my post.

Papertrey Ink New Release Made with Love stamps and tag dies. Project by Wanda Guess

I chose a pretty, natural color palette of cream, kraft, brown and aqua for my two tags. I think it's so great how the stamps fit perfectly onto the tag dies. Makes it so easy to get a really professional result. I like to finish my tags with ribbon, twine and sometimes a pretty button from my giant button jar.

  • Papertrey Ink Release Week! Introducing: Ways to Say Birthday and Flower Mandalas II Dies!

Hello creative and crafty friends! Today is day FOUR of the awesome April Release Week festivities for Papertrey Ink! YAY! This new release is beautiful, with lots of florals, pretty sentiments, and all kinds of fun stamps for birthdays. There is also a new kit from the fabulous Betsy Veldman! CLICK HERE to go to the PTI Official Blog to read all about everything going on this week. All of the new products will be available for purchase in the PTI Store on Saturday the 15th at 10pm EST. Wonderful!

Today I'm happy to introduce two new products from the April Release: The Flower Mandalas II Dies, and the Ways to Say Birthday stamp set. I've made three different projects to share with you to showcase the fun and versatility of these new items.

First up is a present topper and matching tag I made using the new Flower Mandalas II Die Collection! WOW! These dies are so cool and pretty at the same time. So many intricate pieces that fit together to make a gorgeous flower. I had so much fun making this! I used the gorgeous and luxurious PTI Felt in my favorite colors of greens and blues. After I made the present topper I made a matching gift tag using the brand new Made with Love Tags and the Ways to Say Birthday stamp set. I used one of the tiny tulip elements from the mandala and glued it to the bottom of a crisp white tag. I first tied the box using beautiful PTI Polka Dot Ribbon.

Here is a close up shot of the finished Flower Mandala. I used black felt as the bottom layer for a punch of class and depth to the project.

I really love to decorate presents and gift bags. One of my favorite things to craft (after cards of course!) It just makes the recipient feel even more special when you take the time and care to decorate a package.

Next up I used parts of the Flower Mandalas II Die collection with paper to make a sunny birthday card in yellow! I die cut out the tulips and leaves from PTI papers and added them to the clean and simple sentiment from the Ways to Say Birthday Die cut and stamps.

This die cut is the perfect size and scale for a card front! I love the font. I attached the tulips with bits of foam tape and added pretty feminine pearls to the flowers. This would also make a nice card set – make the same card in a bunch of different colors….

Bright Buttercup is absolutely the perfect shade of happy yellow!! LOVE.

And finally today a VERY bright and cheery birthday card made using the Ways to Say Birthday stamp set and die. Here I randomly stamped the birthday wishes sentiment in all the colors of the rainbow. Nothing is more cheerful than that! Then I die cut the birthday die out of both red and black paper and layered them together to make a shadow effect. This card would be perfect for any age.

  • PTI More March Release: Botanical Letters and Beautiful Berries Spring!

Papertrey InkGood day to you! It's almost the official first day of Spring! And I have lots more Spring inspiration for you! Does it seem like I made a ton of PTI projects this month already? Well, that's because I did! And today I have even more! YAY! If you want to see my other posts, just scroll down in my blog after this post. Lots of good stuff for us to stamp and create with. What a joy! I have been having a lovely weekend – continuing to organize, and enjoying some sunshine around here. And I took a nice long nap yesterday too. Now it's time to get busy back in the studio. I have loads of ideas…in fact, an entire sheet of a legal pad! I have been brainstorming and planning. Organizing helps me clear my head and make way for creativity and I can feel it happening. Hope you are in a creative groove right now!

Today there are two projects made with the brand new Papertrey Ink March stamp release. It's all about beautiful florals! And, one of my favorite color combinations: pink and green! I made one birthday card to show you, and a set of pretty custom note cards I made for one of my best girl friends. I'm featuring the new stamp sets called Beautiful Berries: Spring, and Botanical Letters. I hope you find something to inspire you today! Thank you for joining me along this journey all week! It's been really fun and exciting to share with you!

First up is a clean and simple birthday greeting made with Beautiful Berries stamps and matching dies. I started with a card base die cut with one of my favorite PTI products – the Noted A2 Scalloped Die! This die makes a card! You place the top edge of the die on the card fold, and run it through your big shot, and end up with a gorgeous card. The inner layer stitched die is included with the set! Clean and elegant and quick to make!

This is so lovely! I adore the graphic nature of these florals and leaves!! This would be pretty stamped in any color. I used brown for the branches. At first I tried a dark green, but I ended up liking it better in brown. The dies are a perfect match. I stamped and die cut two pieces for the front of my card. When I attached them to the card I used foam tape.

I used one of the stamps that is the flower centers to add some green dots around the stems after I attached them. The sentiment is stamped in dark chocolate ink, off center towards the bottom of the card.

Next up today is the project I made with the new Botanical Letters stamps! EEEEEEEK! I love these so much! I knew right away I wanted to make a note card set for one of my best friends. She is a great pen pal and correspondent and always sends beautiful notes. I cut out cream linen cardstock and rounded the corners to make flat note cards. Then I used the Botanical Letters stamps to spell out her name at the top of each note.

When I packaged the notes and enveloped to give her as a present, I used the Flower Mandalas Dies for a pop of interest attached to some pretty PTI ribbon….. So feminine and pretty. Here you can see that I matched the envelopes to the green ink, and I made some letter seals for the backs of the envelopes!

These Flower Mandala dies are gorgeous! I die cut one from gingham and one from green paper and layered them. Then attached a pretty pink center with foam tape.

PTI Botanical Letters stamps. March 2017 Release. Notecards by Wanda Guess

Here is a close up of the letter seal. I die cut the right size circle using circle dies, then stamped the first letter of her last name in the center. Using the tiny floral stamps, I added green, pink and brown to the letter. On the back I put some double sided tape and left the backing on it so she can easily adhere them to the envelopes.

PTI Botanical Letters stamps. March 2017 Release. Notecards by Wanda Guess

The Index Sheet for the stamp set is super helpful for placement of the tiny stamps. No need for a stamp positioner. It was very easy to get the flowers in the right place. Start with the leaves first! You can see in each letter, there are grooves for the leaves to fit into! Genius! Once you have the leaves stamps, the other stamps fit right in. And, if it's not perfect, it still looks great. I can't wait to stamp this in Christmas colors!!!

For the finished project, I made four note cards, and four letter seals. I wrapped it with green matching envelopes for a pretty presentation.

Thank you for stopping by today! It's so nice to have you here! Welcome new readers who have found me via Papertrey Ink! We are going to have a fun year of stamping together. Happy First Day of Spring tomorrow! XOXO

    SUPPLIES FOR TODAY'S PROJECTS!

  • PTI More March Release: Carrot Treat Box, So Sweet Stamp Set and Cutaway Tags Spring!

    PTI 10 years graphic

Hi everyone! Happy Weekend! What are you up to? Did you celebrate St. Patrick's Day? Did you remember to wear green yesterday?! I love green, so that's not a problem for me! I hope that you have some fun stuff planned for this Spring weekend! I have been organizing and simplifying at my house all week. So far I've taken seven bags of things to Goodwill – in one week! Mostly clothes, shoes and purses. Some books too. Last time I really purged, it was the kitchen.  It feels really good to be able to have some visual space and room to breathe. It's already better going into the closet to choose what to wear each day. And, it turns out that our master bathroom could totally be a pop up store for Bath and Body Works! LOL. I can't resist lotions and soaps and stuff. But now that it's all in one place in the closet, I can shop at home! HA! My studio is slowly getting more open too. I love it. It has given me renewed creativity and I have a list a mile long of things I want to make and blog!!

I'm sharing two more projects today from the brand new Papertrey Ink March Release! I can't wait to share with you today!

First up today is a treat box made with the ADORABLE new Carrot Treat Box and matching stamp set called So Sweet! EEK! This is so perfect for Spring and Easter! But it would also work as a treat cone for any other time of year too!! I envision it also with some paper flowers popping out the top. I had so much fun making this! CLICK HERE to see what the die looks like – it will help you visualize the project… To make the treat box you will die cut two of the die and then glue them together. You can get one treat box (two die cuts) from a sheet of 8.5 x 11 inch sheet of paper so that works out great. I used my favorite gingham paper and added orange, white and green accents.

Papertrey Ink Carrot Treat Box. Easter treats. So Sweet stamp set. March 2017 release. Project by Wanda Guess

The treat box die set comes with tags and triangles to use however you like on your box. I chose to use two of the accent triangles for the front of the box, and an oval tag for the sentiment. The stamp set has adorable sayings and this sweet bunny image. I colored the bunny with just a couple of Copic markers and then die cut it with the matching die.

Papertrey Ink Carrot Treat Box. Easter treats. So Sweet stamp set. March 2017 release. Project by Wanda Guess

It's hard to see in the photo, but the oval tag has a sweet little embossed border! It's so pretty! I stamped the sentiment in black and when I tied the top of the box together I used green ribbon, twine and a button.

Papertrey Ink Carrot Treat Box. Easter treats. So Sweet stamp set. March 2017 release. Project by Wanda Guess

The triangles were attached to the box with foam tape (yes, I love foam tape) and the bunny was added last. The box is filled with my favorite – Cadbury Mini Eggs!!

Papertrey Ink Carrot Treat Box. Easter treats. So Sweet stamp set. March 2017 release. Project by Wanda Guess

I used quick dry liquid glue to glue the die pieces together. I think this works better than adhesive in this instance – especially since I added candy inside. There are tabs on the dies to make it super simple to line up and glue! At the top, two of the flaps fold down and the other two have holes that line up for ribbon or twine to hold it together.

Next up is a birthday card I made using the new Cutaway Tags Die and Matching Stamps. This die is the perfect size for the front of a card. The tiny floral stamps line up exactly over the die! I chose to watercolor my die cut and use the pretty words from the stamp set. I used Distress Inks and a water brush in a vivid color palette for this one. I started with a white A2 card base and layered Smoky Shadow over that. I speckled white mist onto the grey. (colors and supplies listed at the bottom of my post)

Papertrey Ink Cutaway Tag Spring die and stamps. PTI March 2017 Release. Watercolor with Distress Inks. Project by Wanda Guess

I die cut the Cutaway Tag Die out of watercolor paper! That made it really nice and thick, and easy to watercolor. Before I attached it to the card I added a circle of vellum to the back of the die. Then I mounted it onto the card with foam tape. Stamping on watercolor paper can sometimes be tricky. So I used my MISTI to stamp the birthday. I ended up stamping it three times and it looks nice and rich.

A few enamel dots finished off the card!

Welcome new readers! Thank you to everyone for your support and kindness. Have a great week! XOXO

    SUPPLIES FOR TODAY!

  • PTI More March Release: Year of Psalms – February and Quoted – Move Mountains!

    PTI 10 years graphic

Hi crafty friends! How are you this week? I hope it's been a good one for you so far! I have been a very busy bee in my creative hive this week planning, and blogging and getting ready to celebrate the newest Papertrey Ink Product Release. I have been really anxious to share some projects with you and now I can! This was a really fabulous release to work with – so many fun and beautiful products. I feel so lucky to be working with this awesome team. We have really bonded over this new release and everyone is a joy to work with. I can't say enough about that. I feel very supported by the other members of this team, and by the (crazy) Papertrey Ink customer family! I've been a customer for 10 years, and it's super fun to see behind the scenes at one of my favorite companies. The March release went live last night at 10pm EST so all of the products I'm featuring today are available for purchase. Full supply links are at the bottom of my post. Thank you for coming by today – glad you're here!

I'm sharing two cards today, both with a faith based theme. One of the (many) things I have always loved about PTI is that they often create stamps and dies with a faith theme and that is important to me. Sometimes we need cards for specific occasions and a word of wisdom and faith is just the right thing. I could not love the two main projects I'm featuring more. I hope you are inspired and uplifted too!

First up is a card featuring the new stamp and die combo set called Quoted: Move Mountains. The stamps and dies come together in this set which is awesome! The sentiment stamps are broken up so you can put different words in different colors – that is so clever and creative. I used both the stamps and dies on my card and used a warm color palette with a nature theme. This could be a great card for a man or a woman.

Papertrey Ink Quoted Move Mountains. March 2017 new product release. Project by Wanda Guess

I started with an A2 card base from Kraft cardstock and layered three of the patterned papers from the same pack (supply link below). It's great to use papers from the same pad because you know they will work together nicely. I like to choose my patterned papers before choosing my Copic colors – so everything will match nicely. I die cut an oval from cream cardstock and gently inked the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a sponge. This oval is my main focal point for my stamps and dies.

Quoted Move Mountains, Papertrey Ink March 2017 new product release. Project by Wanda Guess

I wrapped some natural cord around the patterned papers before attaching the paper layers to the card base. In the photo below you can see how beautifully the die cuts match to the stamps. I stamped my sentiment directly onto the oval then layered my die cut images around the words. I used Copic Makers to color the images.

I attached the die cut pieces with foam tape for dimension on my card. I think this looks so nice!! You could definitely make a card using just the top piece with the mountains and sun too.

Next up is a bright and bold watercolor card featuring the stamp set Year Of Psalms – February. I totally love the different fonts used in this large stamp! That is one of my favorite looks – mixing fonts. I used the new Flourishes Die to frame the pretty stamp. I die cut the Flourishes Die out of watercolor paper. I heat embossed the stamp in white embossing powder onto the watercolor paper. Then I used Distress Inks and a sponge to ink three vivid shades of ink to look like a sunrise - over the embossing. After sponging on all the inks I used a sprayer bottle and added water droplets. I also added some white ink splatters.

I wanted to add an accent and some dimension to this card so I also heat embossed a butterfly onto vellum using the new Butterfly Hope stamp set and matching die. You can see that my card base is a dark grey and I layered a sheet of vellum over the grey, and under the main panel. The vellum in the butterfly ties it all together I thought.

  • Papertrey Ink March Release Feature: Make it Market Mini Kit – Bloom & Grow!

Hi everyone! I'm soooooo happy to be here to share with you today! (actually happy is an understatement!!) Today is the final day of product introductions for the March 2017 Papertrey Ink release! It's my honor and pleasure to introduce to you the newest Make it Market Mini Kit – Bloom & Grow! Betsy has done it again with another one of her awesome kits. I have every single one of them and they are like little gems in my craft room – so special to me. I know a lot of you feel the same way too. Click over to Nichole's blog at some point today to catch up on ALL of the awesome news from the past week about the new products. Everything will be available for purchase tomorrow (March 15th) at 10pm EST TONIGHT – updated 3/15! on the Papertrey Ink website. I will be posting many more cards and projects after release date! Thank you to all of you who have been excited about this new design team adventure with me – I am so grateful for your support and cheer leading! I hope your week is off to a good start and I hope I make it better with some fun things here today.

This newest Make It Market Mini Kit comes with beautiful patterned papers with a loose plaid and pretty watercolor brushstrokes. It also has a gorgeous floral stamp set with matching dies and fun stencils. The dies coordinate not only with the stamp set, but with the amazing floral bouquets that are pre-printed on the beautiful PTI linen cardstock. These floral bouquets have tabs at the bottom so you can insert them into the matching flower pots. And the sentiments fit perfectly onto the tabs! So great for Spring and Summer creating. I love this kit for bridal showers, Mother's Day cards, Tea parties and friendship cards. It was really quick and easy to make cards that look like they took a long time – sure to impress! Let's take a look…

For this card I made an A2 card base from Kraft cardstock. I layered a piece of the included blue and white patterned paper and added a strip of vellum across it. The flower pot and floral bouquet are pre-printed. I used the matching die cuts to easily cut them out. When you fold over the flower pot image, it has a slot for the bouquet to slide into. I then die cut some extra flowers and attached them with foam tape for dimension. A few pearls and a pretty twine bow – and your'e done!

After I die cut out the first flower pot, I had the idea to turn it into a place card! The flower pot stands up on it's own and it would be so beautiful at an Easter table or at a shower event! I used the PTI banners dies and hand printed the name on the banner. I stamped a couple of green leaves using the included stamp set.

Here is a side view of the place card. I used adhesive on the floral bouquet tab and attached it to the back of the flower pot!

This next card also uses the included patterned paper and the pre-printed bouquet and flower pot. This time I stamped the sentiment onto the pull out tab.

This is so cute and clever – how Betsy designed the images to work together! LOVE.

For this next card I used the stamp set and made pretty flower clusters for a clean and simple, one layer card. You could make this in any color combination and it would look great. These stamps work together very nicely in scale, and with all the little extra accents you have come to expect from PTI!

Okay, one final card! I used the stamps and matching dies for this one to create a half wreath around the sentiment. Since the sentiment is on the smaller side, I die cut two circles to frame it and make it more of a focal point on the card. The roses and leaves die cut like a dream… I added a few pearls again for accents.

    SUPPLIES FOR TODAY'S PROJECTS!

  • Papertrey Ink – Celebrating the past, present and future: 2015

Papertrey Ink 10 year celebrationHi friends! Today is, sadly, my final post of the Papertrey Ink Anniversary Month festivities! It has been soooo much fun to feature stamp sets from the past! Today's post is from 2015. I bought a LOT of Papertrey Ink stamp sets in 2015! LOL. CLICK HERE to go to Nichole's Blog to see everything so far and to enter contests and showcase your cards too. This truly is a party for all of us! I have really been loving looking at all the past cards and then seeing what the design team has come up with currently. It is fun to me to look back at how our stamping has changed and how trends come and go. Such a fun celebration this has been. I loved every minute!

The stamp set I chose to feature from 2015 is called Bakers Dozen. It is a gorgeous set of cupcake stamps for every month and season. And the cake stand and the banners that match with it are genius in my book. Everything you need to create a card for any celebration. I've used this set many many times and every time I am pleased with the results. Because, well, everyone loves cupcakes! For this project I used a classic color combination of black and aqua – and just a pop of bright red! I love red and aqua together as a color combination. I colored the cupcake and the accents with Copic Markers and also did a bit of heat embossing.

For this card, I started with a rich black A2 card base. Isn't that scalloped edge beautiful? I made the card base using the awesome die called Noted: Scalloped A2 Vertical Die. This die perfect cuts out a card base! LOVE. Next I layered aqua mist polka dot paper and then a layer of white.

    2015

I stamped and cut out the cupcake with the matching die, then colored it with Copic Markers. I also added some accents with a white gel pen. Next I heat embossed the pretty frame with white embossing powder on black cardstock. I cut that out with the matching die. I also die cut the cake plate and stand. I used a light aqua Copic Marker (BG10) to add bits of color to the cake stand and the banner. I layered the white banner piece over the black, off setting them slightly.

I adore the pretty edge on the cake stand!!

I finished off the card with some twine and a red enamel dot to tie in with the cherry on the cupcake!

  • Papertrey Ink – Celebrating the past, present and future: 2013

    Papertrey Ink 10 year celebration!

Hi friends! Today is my fourth post for the Papertrey Ink Anniversary Month festivities! How are you enjoying the Papertrey Ink 10 Year Celebration? Each day for 10 days we are featuring stamps sets from one specific year! Today's posts are from 2013. Such a fun celebration!

The stamp set I chose to feature from 2013 is called Hands of Time! I really love this stamp set! It's sooooo super classy and elegant and (pardon the pun) timeless. I love to use this stamp set to make masculine cards. It's perfect for Wedding cards and sympathy cards too. Anytime you need a classic look. I also really like that there are so many add-ons for this set. You can get separate number dies, and the clock hands are just gorgeous. I use this one a lot, so I was so happy to be featuring it today. My card for today is a birthday card, with lots of stamping in tones of rust, brown and Linen. I also added pretty flecks of gold paint to make it more special.

My card is an A2 card base made out of woodgrain paper from my personal stash. Then I layered rich chocolate brown in a layer on top. My main layer is cream cardstock – not pure white. I think this lends for a more vintage feeling. I corner rounded the edges of that top layer also.

    2013

The clocks and the birthday banner are all also stamped on cream cardstock. You can see in this photo that I've edged everything with brown ink.

    2013

I use my Finetec Gold Paints all the time. ALL the time. They are so vivid and gorgeous. I really recommend having these as part of your craft stash. I speckled the clock faces, the hands and the main card with gold paint.

In this shot you can see all the different stamped layers and parts. I really like how the overlapping images came out.

I used another of my favorite PTI products – the Branching Out Die – in vellum – to add a bit of a softer element to all the brown. The contrast of the vellum and the wood is very striking! This die is probably my  most used Papertrey Ink product!
