  • Lawn Fawn Mini Release! Just Plane Awesome!

Helloooooo friends! Today is new release day for Lawn Fawn! They have a new "mini" release out today and they kindly sent me a few new products to work with beforehand so I could share with you! I just adore Lawn Fawn, don't you? The cutest critters to color with Copics! I hope you are having a great week this week!!

My card features the brand new Just Plane Awesome stamps and dies along with some of my previously released favorites from Lawn Fawn. My finished card is an A2 white card base that I covered with Rainbow Plaid paper!! I layered some clouds, and then those cute mice flying by in their paper airplanes!!

The background was made using the Stitched Cloud Background in white paper and then inked with Oxide ink! I stamped and die cut out the mice, clouds and airplanes and colored them all in. I added white gel pen accents too! My sentiment is from the new set, and I used the Wavy Banners dies to stamp the sentiment on.

I die cut out the sun from the Spring Showers Die set – I used yellow paper and also yellow Oxide ink blended onto it…. The clouds are from the Yay Kites stamp set.

  • I like the way you roll! Fun card with Lawn Fawn stamps!

Hi friends! Are you hungry? Do you like sushi? I have a cute and funny card for you then! I'm still sharing cards made with the images I colored during the color challenge and this is one of them! Adorable stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn, with a clean and graphic card layout. Oh, and lots of Copic coloring! Yes! I hope your week is going along great!

I used these fun sushi images from Lawn Fawn, and a little bit of gingham paper….lots of white space…. The finished card is A2 size.

I started with a white card base, then layered a second layer of white paper that was wrapped with a strip of green gingham. That layer was attached with foam tape for dimension. That top layer is a stitched rectangle of (also) white paper. All the stamping and elements are on that layer. How cute is that sentiment?? Love it!

I stamped the sentiment and the pink cherry blossoms directly onto the white top layer and set it aside. I stamped and die cut the sushi rolls, the wasabi (so cute!), the soy sauce, the tray, and the chopsticks… Then I used Copic markers to color everything. I added white gel pen accents after the coloring was done.

Here are my Copic choices for this project!

The stamp set has three or four different facial expressions that are separate. I love that because you can add different ones to each element!! Or have the elements alone without faces. Perfect.

The images were affixed to the card with foam tape. I put the tiny wasabi in between the chopsticks, and tucked the soy sauce behind the tray.

That's it for today! I'm off to get lunch now! LOL. I love sushi, and we are lucky because the best sushi house in our area is only about two miles away! So we can go any time. YUM. I like the way you roll, my friends! I'll be back on Saturday with some super fabulous ladybugs!! CLICK HERE to see the supply list for today or CLICK on the graphic below. (Affiliate Links Used). • You’re the caramel apple of my eye! Lawn Fawn cards!

Helllloooooooo! There's a lot going on around the old bloggy blog lately! So many fun and cool opportunities…and I've been on a creative roll! Just getting around to posting some cards I made a little bit ago. Sometimes, when I get new stamps, I can't wait to color them! So I sit down and stamp and die cut the images, color them, and enjoy that part of the process. Then I'll come back around and make the cards. That's what happened with this adorable new Caramel Apple stamp set from Lawn Fawn! EEEK. It's from their brand new release. It makes me smile! Those little caramel apples with their smiles and cheeks. What a fun thing to color. I've been working on my Copic coloring lately – trying out some darker colors and getting a bit more bold with things. I really like how these guys (and gals) came out!  I ended up with a clean and simple card design to feature them apples! LOL.

The background die is one of my all time favorite Lawn Fawn products. I use it a lot. It's clean and classic and just the perfect touch when you don't want plain white paper as your background. This card started with a Juicy Pear (my favorite green paper) A2 card base. Then I layered colors to match the apples.

For their chubby pink cheeks I used Doodlebug Glitter Sprinkles! I love that tiny bit of dimension instead of flat coloring. I used my white gel pen to add accents over my coloring and to the red heart in the scene. How fun is that sentiment? I love it when Lawn Fawn separates out the sentiments so you can easily use different colors of ink.

You're the caramel APPLE of my eye indeed! Can't wait to give these cards out! Maybe I'll have to make some caramel apples to go with them! I haven't made caramel apples in a long time. Man, does that sound gooooood right now!

Thanks for popping in today to see my card! Do you love these little apples as much as I do?? Too fun! Have a fabulous day, my fabulous crafty friends! XOXO

  • You’re the pumpkin spice in my latte!

Hi creative friends! I'm back today with a fun post of a seriously cute card perfect for the season! Yes, I am totally one of those annoying FALL people! I've already been to Target to stock up on pumpkin spice everything! And I've already had my first PSL of the season! Heck, I saw some leaves falling on my street, so to me it's game time! Bring it on, all of it! I'm ready for sweaters, scarves, football, boots, denim jackets, leaves, cool nights, and pumpkins! LOL! Do you love it too? My friends make fun of me, but I don't care one bit! Fall makes me happppyyyyy. I used to love to go back to school every year with my new binders and a fresh start. For me, Fall is like New Years… I get renewed and I get more active and focused too. Summer makes me crabby and hot. All that sun and everything. HAHA. Some of you might remember that our honeymoon was actually two weeks spent in New England in October! Okay, I'll stop now! You get my point. I hope you're having a great week! Be sure to leave a comment on my last post (Hero Arts Kit) to have a chance at winning a prize. Thanks for stopping by today!

When Lawn Fawn came out with their new release this season, what do you think was my favorite thing? Yes, the cutie patootie Pumpkin Spice stamp set! I used it today to make a happy card for one of my girlfriends. I used colored pencils and a brand new paper collection from Echo Park….

Lawn Fawn Pumpkin Spice. Coffee card by Wanda Guess

I started with an A2 Kraft card base and layered all kinds of pretty patterned papers (more about that later in the post). I stamped the little coffee guy and colored him in with matching colors to the patterned papers. I die cut two flags for the sentiments and broke them up, one above, and one below my main image. This is a good general purpose card layout for when you have one focal image and a sentiment. Easy to dress up with a few embellishments and things you have on hand already.

I used a button and some twine to add a bit of interest at the top of the card. It's glued on with Tacky Glue.

Here's a close up of the paper layers. It can sometimes be confusing trying to mix and match a bunch of papers…. This is something I love to do. The best tip I can give you is to let the paper pad work for you. All of these papers are from the same pad. So we know the colors match perfectly. Then it's a matter of choosing a small scale, a medium scale (think stripes or polka dots) and a pattern (think flowers or leaves). Play around with it and try using a patterned paper instead of plain cardstock too!

    Echo Park Autumn Paper

Last Friday my friend Cara and I took a trip up to Apple Hill (Camino, CA) for apple donuts and PSL coffeeeee! It was pretty funny, because it was super hot that day! But we had a lovely Fall picnic under the trees. Can't wait to go back up the hill for some Cider when it's cooler! Here's a photo I took at our picnic.

Buddy reminded me that it's been a while since I posted a photo of him! So here he is over the weekend looking out the window in our family room. He's so handsome!!! He was probably squirrel watching. They are out in full force right now in our neighborhood!

So that's it for today! Cheers to Fall and pumpkin spice lattes! I hope you have a great weekend. I'll see you soon… XOXO

  • Fall Treat Boxes with my favorite new paper collection!

Howdy friends! The week is almost over! Happy Thursday and here's hoping you had a great week! The weekend is in sight now! I have been scurrying around trying to make all the Fall ideas that I have in my head. SO many ideas, SO little time! I absolutely love this time of year, and it just goes by so quickly. I love to make treat boxes, and cards with leaves on them, and use Autumn colors….

Today I'm sharing some treat boxes I made with the amazing Lawn Fawn Scalloped Treat Box die. It's been on my desk for a few weeks and I stayed up late Tuesday night making these so I could share with you. I also used my new very FAVORITE paper collection. It's from Doodlebug and it's called Flea Market. Okay, so don't tell anyone (just you guys) that I bought three packs of the paper and ALLLLLLLL the embellishments that go with this one!!! SO dang adorable. Pretty much everything from Doodlebug lately is the bomb. Sigh.

Okay, so back to my project for today…. I used woodgrain paper that I bought at my local stamp store to make the base of the boxes. I ran into a bit of a snag… The die does not fit on a 6×6 piece of paper. Hmmmmm. I was going to make the boxes out of the 6×6 paper pad but had to go with plan B. So I made the box bases from the woodgrain and then wrapped the patterned paper around it. In the end, I kind of like this way better! To make one box, you need a sheet of paper 6×11 inches. You will cut two of them and tape them together to form the box. Then the fun part is adding your own decorations and personal touches.

I used some cute Doodlebug mini clothespins to attach a twine bow accent. Then I added a flower sticker! In this shot, you can see the pretty scalloped edge of the top of the box.

I layered two circles for my main focus. On the white one I stamped my sentiment (from the Lawn Fawn Into the Woods stamp set). I used leaves stickers to accent the words. The little crows are dimensional stickers from the same paper collection. EEEP.

The twine box is not wrapped around the handle. I left it loose and attached it with the clothespin to allow for easy access into the box. The box seals without tape at the top, so the recipient can open and close it to get inside. A gift card and a few candies fit perfectly inside! (or just candy LOL)!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! This project is so versatile! I'm thinking Christmas gift cards, Valentine treats…. and on an on. I hope you have found some inspiration!! What are you working on right now? Have a great weekend and I'll see you soon! I'm in a fun blog hop next Wednesday. I will try to blog again before then, but I'm not sure!! XOXO

  • I {heart} Fall!

Hello! I'm back today with more Fall crafting craziness! I stayed up late last night stamping and relaxing. Really what I needed. I worked so many hours this past week and I was brain dead Friday night when I came home from work. The one sure fire way to get me back in my groove is to spend the day (and night) crafting. (And watching college football) I have some cool things in the works to share later. I started Bible Journaling and did my first page yesterday. (You can see a sneak peek on Instagram) I will probably write an entire post about that and all the blessings that have come from this new art form… I am also going to be a guestie somewhere very fabulous at the end of the month. lots of good things to come!!

For today I have a cute and happy Lawn Fawn Fall card to show ya! I got my new Lawn Fawn goodies in the mail last week and wanted to use them quick. One of the things I'm working on is just using stuff – not hoarding it, or looking at it! LOL. Do you do that too? Well…I'm trying to reform! (Please do not look at the 30 Iris cases full of 12×12 paper that are behind me)….

    Here's my card for today!

How cute are these stamps??!! ACK!!! I used the critters from the Sending Hedgehugs stamp set and the Joy to the Woods stamp set! The sentiment is from the Into the Woods set from last year. Yep, those are the Stitched Leaves dies again too… They are my favorite!

EEEP! Critters in the Autumn Forest! I used the same brown tones as the patterned paper for coloring my animals. I tried making them different colors, but then they clashed with the paper. This way they blend in nicely. I wasn't planning it, but I kind of like the effect of having the animals soft in color – against the bright paper…

This paper collection is called Sweater Weather and I ADORE it already. The flair is also from that collection. The paper has the traditional colors of orange and yellow for Fall, but then pops in a nice soft teal with a raspberry color. Nice!
