  • Merry and Bright Candy Canes!

Hey Friends! Happy Friday! Did you have a good week!? I sure hope so! And, here we are, less than a week from Thanksgiving!! Yikes, how did that happen? The year is rolling by at the speed of light! I am ready for Thanksgiving and the holidays and getting cozy and all that good stuff! Are you all prepared to have Thanksgiving? Is it at your house? FUN!! Our weather here has been delightful with some pretty clouds and lots and lots of leaves. It's definitely my favorite time of year! I've been doing a lot of organizing and buzzing around town trying to get things done before I next in for Winter! Not doing a ton of crafting – this is kind of a slow time, oddly enough. I do have some fun holiday ideas I want to try and make!! Today I'm sharing a card I made with beautiful new and old supplies from Honey Bee Stamps! I have a thing for candy canes and I have so many different stamps and dies with candy canes on them…. The ones I used today are three layers so I chose pink as my third color – it's so sweet and pretty!!

My finished card is an A2 white card base layered with gorgeous striped paper and then a scalloped rectangle… Then the feature is those candy canes and some winter foliage and a silver, sparkly bow! (All my supplies are listed at the bottom of my post)!

Here's a side view of my card to show the layers! I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder onto black paper…. I popped up the white rectangle with foam tape because I love a lot of dimension.

The candy canes die set comes with the pretty foliage and that sweet bow. I used two shades of green for the foliage and bright silver cardstock for the bow. I think overall I ended up with kind of a 50's retro look, which I love! Look at the beautiful debossing on the leaves from the dies!!! OOH LA LA.

I used some clear droplets on the card to look like icicles! Makes it feel cold! LOLZ.

To make the candy canes, I die cut white, pink and red cardstocks and then glued them together. SO easy and I love the result.
